If you already own a set of two SSRA1 anchors and a Horizontal Lifeline, this upgrade kit gives you two additional SSRA1 anchors plus two SSRA3 Anchor Plates with D-Rings. This is everything you need to provide a temporary Horizontal Lifeline on a 22 ga. or 24 ga. steel standing seam roof.

▶ SSRA1 Compatibility Overview

This Panel Compatibility Chart is provided only as a reference for what the SSRA1 will physically mount to. It does not determine the structural integrity of any roof system or seam. It is the Qualified person's responsibility to verify structural suitability in the event of a fall. The SSRA1 fits over 95% of standing seam panels. It is approved only for 22- and 24-gauge steel and is not compatible with aluminum, zinc, copper, or other soft metals. Do not install on curved, tapered, or batten-seam profiles.

▶ Nailstrip Panel Warning

Nailstrip-style panels are approximately 50% compatible. Some seams are too wide at the base, which can allow anchor movement during installation. Treat compatibility lists as guidelines, not guarantees.

▶ Installer Responsibility

It is solely the installer's or specifier's responsibility to confirm SSRA1 suitability for the specific panel and application The employer and the designated Competent Person are solely responsible for evaluating, determining, and documenting the structural suitability of the supporting structure, including its ability to withstand all loads that may occur during a fall or related event. The manufacturer does not review, verify, or warrant the structural capacity of any building, roof system, or attachment surface and assumes no responsibility for structural assessment, adequacy, or performance under fall-arrest or fall-restraint conditions.

▶ Test Fit Recommendation

Perform a test fit with an RCT seam clamp or SSRA1 anchor well before installation to confirm proper engagement with your exact panel profile.

▶ Set-Screw Options

Cupped-tip: 22-ga steel—torque to 90 in-lbs
Nylon-tip: 22/24-ga steel—torque to 180–200 in-lbs

▶ Surface Impact

Minor seam dimpling and paint abrasion may occur. Scratches can be touched up with a matching paint pen.

About Standing Seam Roof Anchor

In 2015, the Standing Seam Roof Anchor System began providing specialized fall protection solutions for standing seam roofs. It all started with the SSRA1 seam anchor, designed to lock onto 95% of all standing seam profiles without penetrating the panels or violating warranties. This patented innovation was the first one-piece design in the industry that used six pairs of opposing set screws for seam attachment.

A couple of months later, the SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jack adapter was released, making walkboards possible on standing seam roofs. The adjustable height side legs stabilize the roof seams and create a stable walkboard surface. After that, we introduced the SSRA3 Anchor Plate, which allows for the deployment of temporary horizontal lifelines on standing seam roofs without penetrations.
