SSRA1 Deluxe Stay Safe Combo for Standing Seam Roofs
The SSRA1 Stay Safe Combo is your comprehensive solution for working on standing seam roofs. This kit features the Standing Seam Roof Anchor SSRA1, a 50' vertical lifeline, a full-body harness with trauma straps, and a torque wrench with a bit. It provides a non-penetrating method for securing yourself on commercial buildings, DIY projects, and construction sites, ensuring maximum safety without damaging roof panels.
SSRA1 Non-Penetrating Seam Anchor
The SSRA1 Seam Anchor fits 95% of today's standing-seam panels, with no moving parts or assembly required. The patented one-piece body fits almost all seams in the field for a rock-solid anchor point attachment. Optional adapter plates can be mounted on top of the SSRA1 anchor to expand the functionality. Walkboards and temporary horizontal lifelines are easy to deploy by adding the SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jack Adapter and the SSRA3 Anchor Plate.

▶ SSRA1 Compatibility Overview
This Panel Compatibility Chart is provided only as a reference for what the SSRA1 will physically mount to. It does not determine the structural integrity of any roof system or seam. It is the Qualified Person's responsibility to verify structural suitability in the event of a fall. The SSRA1 fits over 95% of standing seam panels. It is approved only for 22- and 24-gauge steel and is not compatible with aluminum, zinc, copper, or other soft metals. Do not install on curved, tapered, or batten-seam profiles.
▶ Nailstrip Panel Warning
Nailstrip-style panels are approximately 50% compatible. Some seams are too wide at the base, which can allow anchor movement during installation. Treat compatibility lists as guidelines, not guarantees.
▶ Installer Responsibility
It is solely the installer's or specifier's responsibility to confirm SSRA1 suitability for the specific panel and application. The employer and the designated Competent Person are solely responsible for evaluating, determining, and documenting the structural suitability of the supporting structure, including its ability to withstand all loads that may occur during a fall or related event. The manufacturer does not review, verify, or warrant the structural capacity of any building, roof system, or attachment surface and assumes no responsibility for structural assessment, adequacy, or performance under fall-arrest or fall-restraint conditions.
▶ Test Fit Recommendation
Perform a test fit with an RCT seam clamp or SSRA1 anchor well before installation to confirm proper engagement with your exact panel profile.
▶ Set-Screw Options
- Cupped-tip: 22-gauge steel—torque to 90 in-lbs
- Nylon-tip: 22/24-gauge steel—torque to 180-200 in-lbs
▶ Surface Impact
Minor seam dimpling and paint abrasion may occur. Scratches can be touched up with a matching paint pen.

SSRA1 Patented Design
The SSRA1 features a patented, non-penetrating design crafted from solid 6061-T6 aluminum with 12 stainless steel set screws. The standard assembly includes a certified D-ring for single-worker attachment. Unlike compression-type anchors, the SSRA1's set screws prevent sliding during impacts, ensuring superior safety. SSRA1 Deluxe Stay Safe Combo Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the Deluxe Combo the best value for professionals?
The Deluxe Combo is the only kit that includes the 1/4" drive micro-torque wrench. This ensures that you have the precision tool required to meet OSHA 5,000-lb certification standards immediately upon delivery, without needing to source extra tools.
Does the unboxing video above show both types of set screws?
Yes. As shown in our unboxing video above, the Deluxe Combo provides both cupped-tip screws (for 22ga steel) and nylon-tipped screws (for 24ga steel), giving you the flexibility to work on multiple roof gauges with a single kit.
Why is it critical to use the provided torque wrench?
The SSRA1 anchor body is crafted from high-grade aluminum. Using impact drivers or overtightening with manual wrenches can strip threads or damage the roof seam. The included wrench ensures you hit exactly 90 in-lbs (cupped) or 180-200 in-lbs (nylon) every time.
Is the 50-foot lifeline sufficient for most residential projects?
For standard residential standing seam roofs, 50 feet is the industry-preferred length. It provides enough reach to cover a significant work area while minimizing rope clutter that could create trip hazards.
Can I use the Deluxe kit for permanent facility maintenance?
Yes. The anchor is made from salt-spray tested 6061-T6 aluminum and stainless steel. While the harness and lifeline should be stored in a dry environment, the SSRA1 anchor base is designed for permanent outdoor installation.
What size worker does the Warthog harness accommodate?
The Malta Dynamics Warthog Lg/XL harness included in this combo is fully adjustable through the torso. Tongue-buckle leg straps adjust for workers who are 4'10" to 6'3" in height and 160-220 lbs of worker weight.
How do I avoid common problems when installing the Deluxe kit?
To ensure total compliance and roof integrity, follow these technical protocols:
- 1. Zero Impact Tools: Never use a drill or impact driver. Use ONLY the provided micro-torque wrench to prevent thread stripping.
- 2. Check Metal Type: This kit is strictly for steel panels. If your roof is copper or aluminum, this set-screw anchor is not compatible.
- 3. Tip Inspection: Before each installation, ensure the set screw tips (especially nylon) are not missing or severely flattened. Replace set screws every 3-5 uses.
