The Standing Seam Roof Anchor SSRA1-Nylon is a next-generation tie-off point allowing homeowners, commercial building owners, and roofing contractors to work safely on standing seam metal roofs without any panel penetrations. An independent ISO 17025/ANSI Z359.18-certified materials testing facility recently conducted Ultimate Failure testing on the SSRA1. The 14,500 lbs. results shocked everyone and rivaled all current competitor's posted test results. The test ended when the Grade 8 top bolts sheared, leaving the aluminum anchor body completely unharmed or bent. This incredible strength is due to the patented structural design of the anchor body. The SSRA1 is in a class of its own!
SSRA1 Patented Design For Standing Seam Fall Protection
The SSRA1's patented, non-penetrating design is unlike anything else currently available. It consists of a solid 6061-T6 aluminum body with 12 stainless steel set screws with nylon tips. The standard assembly includes a 5,000 lbs. d-ring for single-man attachment. Direct set screw attachment has proven to be superior to compression-type anchors. The direct set screws do not allow the device to slide during impacts, thus avoiding the issues experienced with weaker compression-style anchors. We recommend the use of inline shock absorbers or shock packs when using the SSRA1 .22 gauge steel panels are compatible with the cupped and nylon tipped set screws. 24 gauge steel panels are compatible with nylon tipped set screws only.
The SSRA1 anchor product has interchangeable adapter plates to expand the function of the system. The SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jacks allow workers the ability to mount 10' long walkboards onto the SSRA1 seam anchors. The SSRA3 Anchor Plate adapters mount on top of the SSRA1 anchors and allow horizontal lifelines to be mounted without seam penetrations.
