See the Roof Anchor Compatibility Chart for TremCo Roofing TremLock IL Snaplock Standing Seam Panels.

The TremLock IL Snaplock panel is available in a standard width of 13", with other widths available upon request, offering flexibility to meet specific project requirements. Coated with Kynar 500® (PVDF), the TremLock IL Snaplock provides excellent resistance to fading and weathering, ensuring the roof remains visually appealing and functional over time. The 24 gauge Galvalume® panel is durable and reliable.

The TremLock IL Snaplock has undergone rigorous testing to meet industry benchmarks, including a Class A fire rating, UL580 Class 90, UL 1897 uplift tests, and a Class 4 impact resistance rating under UL 2218. These certifications make the TremLock IL Snaplock a dependable option for residential and commercial roofing projects, particularly in areas requiring high wind resistance and overall durability.

Fall Protection for IL Snaplock Panels

For the TremLock IL Snaplock panel, all standard fall protection systems, including the SSRA1, SSRA2, SSRA3, and Ridge Pro Steep Assist, are compatible, providing flexibility and robust safety solutions across different roofing scenarios.

The SSRA1 Standing Seam Roof Anchor clamps securely onto the 1" seams of the TremLock IL Snaplock without penetrating the metal, preserving the panel's integrity. This anchor provides a reliable attachment point for fall protection equipment, making it ideal for ensuring worker safety during installation, maintenance, or repairs.

For projects that require the secure placement of walk boards, the SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jack Adapters mount on top of the SSRA1 anchors. This setup allows for the stable attachment of 10' wooden walkboards, creating a safe working platform for roofers. The SSRA2's adjustability ensures that the walk boards remain securely positioned, regardless of the roof's pitch, enhancing safety and efficiency on the job site.

The SSRA3 Anchor Plate is another valuable component for improving roof safety. Mounted on top of the SSRA1 anchors, the SSRA3 provides a secure point for attaching temporary horizontal lifelines, making it ideal for larger projects where multiple workers need to move safely across the roof.

The Ridge Pro Steep Assist is also fully compatible with the TremLock IL Snaplock. This anchor attaches securely to the roof's ridge, providing a stable and versatile anchor point that integrates seamlessly with the IL Snaplock's design. The Ridge Pro ensures worker safety on roofs with varying slopes, providing reliable protection across different installation scenarios.

Given that all these fall protection systems are compatible with the TremLock IL Snaplock, this panel offers a comprehensive solution for maintaining safety during roofing projects.

General Safety Guidelines for Standing Seam Roofs

Ensure Proper Footwear for Stability

Workers should wear non-slip footwear designed for metal roofs and avoid working on wet surfaces. Proper shoes enhance stability and reduce the risk of slips and falls.

Use Roof Anchors Specifically Designed for Standing Seam Roofs

Choose roof anchor systems engineered for standing seam roofs. Avoid anchors that attach over clips, as these can be challenging to locate on existing roofs.

Equip Workers with Top-Tier Safety Equipment

Provide your crew with high-quality full-body harnesses and shock-absorbing lanyards. This equipment is essential for reducing impact forces during falls, significantly decreasing the risk of severe injury or death.

Guarantee Secure Ladder and Scaffolding Placement

Ensure that ladders and scaffolding are correctly set up, free of obstructions, and stable. Provide comprehensive OSHA-compliant ladder safety training, and always follow the 4-1 rule for ladder positioning.

Plan Ahead with an OSHA-Compliant Safety Strategy

Before any work begins, develop a comprehensive, OSHA-compliant safety plan that includes detailed rescue procedures. This proactive approach helps protect workers in an emergency.

Emphasize the Importance of Trauma Straps

Educate workers on the correct use of trauma straps with their harnesses. These straps play a vital role in preventing serious injuries or fatalities by minimizing suspension trauma after a fall.

Create Safe Work Zones on Roofs

To prevent falls, install guardrails, warning lines, or other protective barriers on low-slope roofs, establishing clear and secure work zones. These precautions help maintain a safer environment and minimize accident risks.

Exercise Caution with Curved Roof Panels

Avoid using seam-mounted anchors on curved metal panels. For such roofs, a trained safety professional must assess the site and develop a tailored safety plan that addresses the specific risks associated with curved surfaces.

Prioritize Safety Through Regular Inspections and Training

Conduct frequent equipment checks and ongoing training to maintain a solid safety-first culture. This proactive approach helps maintain high safety standards and reduces the risk of workplace accidents.

Consider Permanent Roof Anchoring Solutions

Invest in permanent roof anchor systems that can be left in place to facilitate future roof work and inspections. These systems provide long-term safety benefits and ensure continuous worker protection.
