SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jack Adapters (Pair) – Non-Penetrating Walkboard Brackets
The SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jack Adapter is the industry-leading solution for contractors who need to install walkboards on steep standing seam metal roofs without compromising the roof’s integrity.
⚠️ ADAPTERS ONLY: Requirements for Installation
This product includes a pair of SSRA2 Roof Jack Adapters. It requires existing SSRA1 Standing Seam Roof Anchors for mounting. If you do not yet own anchors, we highly recommend our Complete SSRA2 Roof Jack & Anchor Bundle for a turnkey solution.

▶ SSRA1 Compatibility Overview
This Panel Compatibility Chart is provided only as a reference for what the SSRA1 will physically mount to. It does not determine the structural integrity of any roof system or seam. It is the Competent Person's responsibility to verify structural suitability in the event of a fall. The SSRA1 fits over 95% of standing seam panels. It is approved only for 22- and 24-gauge steel and is not compatible with aluminum, zinc, copper, or other soft metals. Do not install on curved, tapered, or batten-seam profiles.
▶ Nailstrip Panel Warning
Nailstrip-style panels are approximately 50% compatible. Some seams are too wide at the base, which can allow anchor movement during installation. Treat compatibility lists as guidelines, not guarantees.
▶ Installer Responsibility
It is solely the installer's or specifier's responsibility to confirm SSRA1 suitability for the specific panel and application. The employer and the designated Competent Person are solely responsible for evaluating, determining, and documenting the structural suitability of the supporting structure, including its ability to withstand all loads that may occur during a fall or related event.
▶ Test Fit Recommendation
Perform a test fit with an RCT seam clamp or SSRA1 anchor well before installation to confirm proper engagement with your exact panel profile.
▶ Set-Screw Options
- Cupped-tip: 22-gauge steel—torque to 90 in-lbs
- Nylon-tip: 22/24-ga steel—torque to 180–200 in-lbs
▶ Surface Impact
Minor seam dimpling and paint abrasion may occur. Scratches can be touched up with a matching paint pen.

- Massive ROI: Why spend $2,000 on a single-use walkboard bracket? The SSRA2 offers professional stability at a fraction of the cost of traditional metal roof walkboard systems.
- USA Construction: Fabricated from 6061-T6 aluminum and stainless steel hardware for a rust-free life on the job site.
How to Install SSRA2 Adapters on Standing Seam Roofs
Follow these professional installation tips to ensure OSHA compliance and maximum platform stability:
- SSRA1 Anchor Placement: Secure two SSRA1 anchors to the seams (max 8 feet apart) and torque set-screws to 90 in/lbs.
- SSRA2 Roof Jack Adapter Mounting: Remove the SSRA1 D-rings and bolt the SSRA2 adapters directly to the anchor base using two top bolts.
- Pitch Adjustment: Loosen the side-leg adjustment bolts to level the walkboard mount. Ensure padded stabilizer feet are snug against the roof panel.
- Securing the Plank: Place your 2x10 lumber in the roof jacks and drive 2-inch #10 wood screws through the pre-drilled holes in the bracket face.

SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jack Adapter FAQ
Does this product include the standing seam anchors?
No. This kit includes one pair (2) of SSRA2 Adjustable Adapters only. You must already own or separately purchase SSRA1 Seam Anchors to use this system. Each adapter requires one anchor base.
What is the maximum weight capacity for the SSRA2 walkboard system?
The SSRA2 system is laboratory-tested to support one worker per 8-foot to 10-foot walkboard, plus approximately 40 lbs of tools/materials. It is designed for staging and convenience, not as a primary fall arrest anchor.
How do I adjust the adapter for different roof pitches?
The SSRA2 features a multi-position adjustable bracket that can be leveled for roof pitches ranging from 6:12 to 12:12. Simply loosen the adjustment bolts, level the bracket, and retighten before placing your walkboard.
Will the stabilizer legs scratch my painted metal roof?
The SSRA2 is designed with padded stabilizer feet that rest against the roof panel. These feet provide lateral stability and prevent the bracket from rocking, all while protecting the panel's finish from scratches.
Can I use these adapters on 1.5" or 2" high seams?
Yes. The side stabilizer legs are fully height-adjustable. They can be raised or lowered to accommodate common standing seam heights ranging from 1" to 3".
Is the SSRA2 made in the USA?
Yes. The SSRA2 is proudly developed, tested, and manufactured in the USA from 6061-T6 aluminum. This ensures high-strength performance and strict compliance with domestic safety standards.
What are the most common mistakes to avoid when installing SSRA2 adapters?
To ensure a safe installation and avoid callbacks, avoid these three errors:
- Failing to secure the plank: You must drive 2-inch #10 wood screws through the pre-drilled holes in the bracket into your 2x10 lumber to prevent the board from sliding.
- Incorrect Spacing: Do not place adapters more than 8 feet apart.
- Over-adjusting legs: The stabilizer feet should be snug to the roof to prevent wobble, but they should not be tightened so hard that they crush or dimple the roof panel.
- Soft Substrates: Never use on copper, aluminum, or zinc. For these metals, use the Ridge Pro Steep Assist.
