SSRA1 Compatible seam profiles
▶ SSRA1 Compatibility Overview

This Panel Compatibility Chart is provided only as a reference for what the SSRA1 will physically mount to. It does not determine the structural integrity of any roof system or seam. It is the Qualified Person's responsibility to verify structural suitability in the event of a fall. The SSRA1 fits over 95% of standing seam panels. It is approved only for 22- and 24-gauge steel and is not compatible with aluminum, zinc, copper, or other soft metals. Do not install on curved, tapered, or batten-seam profiles.

▶ Nailstrip Panel Warning

Nailstrip-style panels are approximately 50% compatible. Some seams are too wide at the base, which can allow anchor movement during installation. Treat compatibility lists as guidelines, not guarantees.

▶ Installer Responsibility

It is solely the installer's or specifier's responsibility to confirm SSRA1 suitability for the specific panel and application. The employer and the designated Competent Person are solely responsible for evaluating, determining, and documenting the structural suitability of the supporting structure, including its ability to withstand all loads that may occur during a fall or related event. The manufacturer does not review, verify, or warrant the structural capacity of any building, roof system, or attachment surface and assumes no responsibility for structural assessment, adequacy, or performance under fall-arrest or fall-restraint conditions.

▶ Test Fit Recommendation

Perform a test fit with an RCT seam clamp or SSRA1 anchor well before installation to confirm proper engagement with your exact panel profile.

▶ Set-Screw Options
  • Cupped-tip: 22-gauge steel—torque to 90 in-lbs
  • Nylon-tip: 22/24-gauge steel—torque to 180-200 in-lbs
▶ Surface Impact

Minor seam dimpling and paint abrasion may occur. Scratches can be touched up with a matching paint pen.

Malta Dynamics B2002 Warthog Harness

The Malta Dynamics Warthog Full Body Harness is celebrated for its outstanding performance and cost-effectiveness. It features tongue buckle leg straps and dual lanyard keepers, enhancing comfort and convenience by keeping lanyards neatly out of the way. A customizable patch allows users to log information without compromising the integrity of the webbing. Conforming to stringent ANSI and OSHA standards, the Warthog harness is a dependable and affordable addition to any safety gear collection.

Malta Dynamics C7050 50' Vertical Lifeline

The Malta Dynamics 50' Vertical Lifeline is designed to maximize safety for workers operating at heights. This assembly includes a 50-foot vertical lifeline, a rope grab, and an 18-inch shock-absorbing lanyard, making it a critical component of any personal fall arrest system (PFAS). Its sturdy construction ensures both durability and security.

Malta Dynamics R0005 Suspension Trauma Relief Strap

The R0005 Trauma Straps are designed to reduce the effects of prolonged suspension following a fall. Compatible with most body harness models, these straps attach easily with a quick-connect system. By reducing blood restriction to vital organs, they provide peace of mind and safety in the event of a fall, helping to prevent unconsciousness or severe injury.

SSRA1 Testing and Performance

The SSRA1 has been rigorously tested by third-party ISO 17025/ANSI Z359.18 standards to verify its ultimate failure strength. It surpassed expectations with an ultimate breaking strength of 14,500 lbs. Its patented structural design and exceptional gripping strength distinguish it from competitors.

SSRA1 Patented Design

The SSRA1 boasts a patented, non-penetrating design made from solid 6061-T6 aluminum with 12 stainless steel set screws. The standard assembly includes a certified D-ring for single-worker attachment. Unlike compression-type anchors, the SSRA1’s set screws prevent sliding during impacts, ensuring superior safety. Its versatility is enhanced by interchangeable adapter plates, allowing for the use of roof jacks, walkboards, and temporary horizontal lifelines.

SSRA1 Stay Safe Combo (Cupped Tip) Frequently Asked Questions

What is the primary benefit of the Cupped Tip set screws in this combo?

Cupped-tip set screws are engineered for 22-gauge steel standing-seam panels. They provide a superior mechanical "bite" into the seam metal when torqued to 90 in-lbs, ensuring the anchor cannot slide during a dynamic fall event.

Does the unboxing video above show all the lifeline components?

Yes. As shown in our unboxing video above, the Stay Safe Combo arrives as a complete turnkey fall protection system, including the anchor, the 50' Malta vertical lifeline with rope grab, and the Warthog harness.

Is the vertical lifeline rope grab automatic or manual?

The Malta Dynamics C7050 assembly includes an automatic locking rope grab. This allows the worker to move freely along the vertical lifeline while the device remains ready to lock onto the rope instantly in the event of a fall. The worker squeezes the rope grab to re-position the lock on the vertical lifeline.

Why are suspension trauma relief straps included in this kit?

Suspension trauma relief straps are a critical safety add-on. After a fall, a worker suspended in a harness can experience restricted blood flow to the legs. These straps allow the worker to "stand up" in the harness, thereby relieving pressure on the femoral artery while awaiting rescue.

What is the maximum weight capacity for this safety combo?

The SSRA1 anchor and Warthog harness system are rated for a single user with a combined weight (including tools and equipment) of up to 310 lbs to maintain full compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards.

Can I use this combo on 24-gauge steel roofs?

While the anchor is compatible with 24-gauge steel, we strongly recommend using Nylon-tipped set screws for 24-gauge applications. The cupped tips are optimized for 22-gauge; for thinner 24-gauge metal, nylon tips provide a safe hold without risk of panel deformation.

How do I avoid the most common problems when setting up this system?

To ensure total safety and protect the roof system, follow these three technical rules:

  • 1. Precision Torque: Never use impact drivers. Use a calibrated torque wrench set exactly to 90 in-lbs for cupped tips to prevent stripping the aluminum body.
  • 2. Substrate Check: Verify the roof is steel. Never install on soft metals like copper or aluminum, as they cannot support the set-screw pressure required for a 5,000-lb rating.
  • 3. Inspect the Rope Grab: Ensure the grab is installed in the correct "Up" orientation as indicated on the device housing before each use.

About Standing Seam Roof Anchor

In 2015, the Standing Seam Roof Anchor System began providing specialized fall protection solutions for standing seam roofs. It all started with the SSRA1 seam anchor, designed to lock onto 95% of all standing seam profiles without penetrating the panels or violating warranties. This patented innovation was the first one-piece design in the industry that used six pairs of opposing set screws for seam attachment.

A couple of months later, the SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jack adapter was released, making walkboards possible on standing seam roofs. The adjustable height side legs stabilize the roof seams and create a stable walkboard surface. After that, we introduced the SSRA3 Anchor Plate, which allows for the deployment of temporary horizontal lifelines on standing seam roofs without penetrations. This comprehensive product line offers unmatched safety and reliability across multiple industries in the U.S. and Canada. All Standing Seam Roof Anchor products are proudly designed and fabricated in the U.S.A.
