What Crews Say About the APEX Class E Full Brim

★★★★★
Based on 43 customer reviews of the APEX Type 2 Class E full-brim helmet
★★★★★
Well built with a clean look
Matzvey
Very nice hard hat, well built and has a nice look. Rests well on my head with plenty of adjustments so it sits just how I like. The chin strap is adjustable for length, and the ear triangles tilt forward or back so no straps touch my ears. Feels light in hand and lighter on the head. Impressed with this company and this hard hat. Solid!
★★★★★
Great fit and the full brim keeps debris off
RonDZee
This helmet was a good fit. The padded headband and top are comfortable, and it comes with a chin strap. It has an adjustable dial headband for your head size. I like the full brim, it keeps stuff off your neck, and it is vented to help with the heat. All around a good helmet, bright color so you are seen. A good deal for the ANSI ratings.
★★★★★
Snug, stable, and professional looking
Matt
Safety first, and this helmet delivers. The fit is snug and confidence-inspiring thanks to the adjustable headband and solid chin strap. It sits slightly lower on the head than I expected, which adds to the sense of coverage and stability. Comfortable enough for long wear and meets all the major safety standards. The design and color are clean and professional.
★★★★★
A proper restrained Type 2 for daily use
azYetiSquatch
It is a Type 2 with side impact protection and it has a chin strap. My employer is moving toward Type 2 hard hats for field staff because we work around moving booms and backhoes. I like the headlamp retaining straps so they do not slip off. The yellow is very visible, the ratchet headband is quick, and the sweatband does not leave marks. Well constructed and looks good too. I would recommend this for daily use.

Who Needs This Helmet

This Type 2 Class E full brim helmet is built for electricians, utility and line crews, and anyone working near energized conductors who also need all-angle impact protection. The 4-point chin strap keeps it secure during climbing and at-height work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Type 2 Class E mean on a safety helmet?
Type 2 means the helmet is rated for impacts from the top, front, back, and sides, unlike a Type 1 hard hat that only protects against a top blow. Class E is the electrical class, tested to withstand up to 20,000 volts for work near energized conductors.
What standards does the APEX Type 2 Class E helmet meet?
It meets ANSI Z89.1-2014 Type 2 Class E and EN12492, and is compliant with OSHA 1910 and OSHA 1926 for general industry and construction work.
What is the benefit of a full brim over a cap style helmet?
A full brim wraps 360 degrees around the helmet, shielding the face, ears, and back of the neck from sun, rain, and falling debris. Cap-style helmets only have a front brim, so full-brim helmets are the common choice for outdoor, roofing, and utility crews.
What head sizes does the APEX helmet fit?
The comfort ratchet suspension adjusts to fit head sizes 6 1/2 to 8. A removable, adjustable 4-point chin strap keeps the helmet secure during movement or a fall.
How do the build-page add-ons work?
Each accessory in the Build Your Helmet section has its own Add to cart button and is added to the same cart as your helmet, so everything ships together. Pick your helmet color above, add the helmet, then add any face shields, brackets, earmuffs, or accessories you need.
Which face shield fits this helmet and how does it mount?
The clear and shade-5 toric face shields mount to the full-brim helmet using the Full Brim Face Shield Bracket listed in the build section. The mesh face shield includes its own mounting clips and attaches directly to the shell, and the arc flash shield is built for electrical work.
When should I replace the helmet?
Retire and replace the helmet after any impact or fall event, or if the shell shows cracks, dents, gouges, or chalking, or the suspension or chin strap is frayed or damaged. Inspect before each use and store away from heat and sunlight.
