Warthog Comfort Maxx Steel Full Body Harness
The Malta Dynamics Warthog Comfort Maxx Steel is a steelworker-inspired version of the best-selling Comfort Maxx, built for crews who wear a harness all day. Full shoulder, back, waist, and leg padding with a breathable X-pad and reflective webbing keep the worker comfortable and visible, while galvanized steel D-rings, buckles, and adjusters withstand heavy construction use.
An upgraded belt handles popular tool bags, a dual-lifeline attachment point reduces strain on the lower back, and a pre-installed trauma-relief strap helps reduce the onset of suspension trauma after a fall. Rated for 130 to 310 lb and tested to ANSI Z359.11-2021 and ANSI A10.32-2012, it carries back and side D-rings, quick-connect chest and leg buckles, and an impact indicator, and ships in four sizes from S-M through 3XL.

Who Needs This Harness
The Warthog Comfort Maxx Steel is the wearable component of a personal fall-arrest, restraint, or work-positioning system, built for ironworkers, steel erectors, and construction crews who stay in a harness all shift. The back D-ring handles fall arrest while the two side D-rings support work positioning, and the padded tool-bag belt suits heavy gear. Each worker still needs a compatible connecting device, a self-retracting lifeline or an energy-absorbing lanyard, plus a rated anchorage. The harness is sized for a single user with a combined weight, including tools and clothing, of 130-310 lb.
Features
Maximum-comfort padding
Full shoulder, back, waist, and leg padding with a breathable X-pad keeps the worker comfortable through a full shift in the harness.
Galvanized steel hardware

Back and two side D-rings
A dorsal back D-ring for fall arrest plus two side D-rings for work positioning give the worker versatile tie-off options.
Tool-bag belt and dual attachment
An upgraded belt handles popular tool bags, and a dual-lifeline attachment point reduces strain on the lower back.
Trauma relief strap included
A pre-installed trauma relief strap helps reduce the onset of orthostatic suspension trauma if a worker is left suspended after a fall.
Reflective webbing and impact indicator
Reflective webbing improves visibility, while a built-in impact indicator lets a competent person confirm whether the harness has taken a fall.

A harness is only one part of the system. The Warthog Comfort Maxx Steel arrests a fall only when connected to a compatible energy-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline and a rated anchorage. Use the back D-ring for fall arrest and the side D-rings for positioning only; match every component to the same 310 lb capacity; calculate fall clearance before tying off; and never use a harness that shows a deployed impact indicator or fails inspection.
Compliance Standards
ANSI Z359.11-2021
ANSI/ASSP safety requirements for full body harnesses used in personal fall arrest systems.
ANSI A10.32-2012
ANSI/ASSP standard for fall protection systems used in construction and demolition operations.
OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M
Construction fall protection, including personal fall arrest system requirements under 1926.502.

Typical Applications
Fitting Overview
Fit and use the harness per the Malta Dynamics user instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check webbing, stitching, hardware, labels, and the impact indicator before each use.
- Select the size. Match the worker to the correct size by height and waist measurement so the harness fits snugly.
- Don the harness. Step into the leg straps, bring the shoulder straps up, and snap the quick-connect chest and leg buckles.
- Adjust. Tighten all straps so the back D-ring sits between the shoulder blades and you can slide a flat hand under the webbing.
- Connect. Clip a compatible energy-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline to the back D-ring for fall arrest, or use the side D-rings for work positioning only, then attach to a rated anchorage.
- Verify clearance. Confirm fall clearance below the work surface before work begins.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 12 months. Remove the harness from service for any of the conditions below.
- Webbing: cuts, burns, holes, fraying, paint or chemical contamination, or heat and UV damage.
- Stitching: pulled, cut, or broken threads at any load-bearing seam.
- Hardware: corrosion, pitting, nicks, cracks, or distorted D-rings, buckles, and adjusters.
- Impact indicator: any deployed or activated indicator.
- Labels: must remain legible and intact.
Retirement triggers: any fall-arrest event, a deployed impact indicator, or any damage above. A harness that has arrested a fall must be removed from service immediately and destroyed to prevent reuse.
