Warthog Maxx Belted Side D-Ring Harness
The Malta Dynamics Warthog Maxx is a Class 3 construction full-body harness built for crews that spend long days in a harness. It carries a dorsal D-ring for fall arrest, a pair of side positioning D-rings, and a padded removable waist belt, so one harness covers fall arrest, work positioning, and travel restraint. A quick disconnect chest buckle and tongue-and-buckle legs make it fast to don and easy to dial in.
Rated for a 130-310 lb worker capacity, including tools, the Warthog Maxx is built from polyester webbing with steel hardware and is tested to ANSI Z359.11-2021. Shoulder, back, and leg padding, plus the support belt, distribute the load for all-day comfort, and a built-in fall indicator and dual lanyard keepers round out the package. It is offered in four sizes from S-M through 3XL.

Who Needs This Product
The Warthog Maxx is a full-body harness for workers who need more than basic fall arrest. The dorsal D-ring ties off a personal fall arrest system, while the side positioning D-rings let a worker lean back into a positioning lanyard to work hands-free at a wall, form, or rebar face. The harness can also be set up for travel restraint to keep a crew back from the edge. It is the harness for construction, rebar, concrete, and tower crews who spend full shifts in their gear. Like any harness, it is body-wear only and still needs an anchorage and a connecting device to form a complete system.
Features
Back and side D-rings
A dorsal D-ring for fall arrest plus two side positioning D-rings, so one harness handles arrest, positioning, and restraint.
Removable padded waist belt
A padded, removable support belt takes the load off the hips during positioning work and lifts off when not needed.
Full comfort padding
Shoulder, back, and leg padding spreads the weight of the harness and a tool belt across the body for all-day wear.
Quick disconnect chest buckle
A quick-disconnect chest buckle and tongue-and-buckle legs make the harness easy to don and adjust to a precise fit.
Fall indicator
A built-in fall indicator gives a competent person a clear visual cue that the harness has taken a fall and must be retired.
Keepers and label protector
Dual break-away lanyard keepers stow a lanyard out of the way, and a protected label keeps inspection records legible.

Use the right D-ring for the right job. The dorsal (back) D-ring is the only attachment point rated for fall arrest. The side D-rings are for work positioning and travel restraint only and must never be used to arrest a free fall. Match every component to the same 310 lb capacity, calculate fall clearance before tying off, inspect the harness before each use, and retire it after any fall-arrest event.
Compliance Standards
ANSI Z359.11-2021

Typical Applications
Fit and Donning Overview
Don and adjust per the Malta Dynamics full body harness instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check webbing, stitching, all three D-rings, the belt, the fall indicator, and labels before each use.
- Shake out. Hold the dorsal D-ring and shake the harness so the straps fall free, then release any fastened buckles.
- Shoulder it. Slip the straps over your shoulders with the dorsal D-ring centered between the shoulder blades.
- Leg straps. Route each leg through a leg strap and connect the tongue-and-buckle, snug but not pinching.
- Belt and chest. Fasten the waist belt snugly, then connect the quick-disconnect chest buckle 6 to 8 inches below the throat.
- Final fit. Adjust all straps so the harness is snug with no slack, and confirm fall clearance before tying off.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every six months. Remove the harness from service for any of the conditions below.
- Webbing: cuts, frays, burns, chemical or heat damage, broken fibers, or excessive wear.
- Stitching: pulled, cut, or broken threads at any load-bearing seam.
- Hardware: cracked, bent, corroded, or distorted dorsal D-ring, side D-rings, or buckles.
- Fall indicator: deployed or activated, signaling the harness has taken a fall.
- Belt and labels: damaged support belt or any label that is no longer legible.
Retirement triggers: any fall-arrest event, a deployed fall indicator, or any damage above. A harness exposed to a fall must be removed from service permanently.
