Warthog Side D-Ring Harness, 2-Pack

This kit ships two identical Warthog Side D-Ring full-body harnesses in the size you select, so a two-worker positioning crew can gear up from a single order. The Warthog Side D-Ring adds a pair of hip-level positioning side D-rings to the economy Warthog platform, with reflective webbing, tongue-and-buckle leg straps, a pass-through chest buckle, and break-away lanyard keepers.

Each harness carries a 130 to 310 lb capacity, a 3,600 lb maximum static strength, and meets ANSI Z359.11-2021, ANSI A10.32-2012, and OSHA 1926 Subpart M, backed by a Malta Dynamics Declaration of Conformity with ISO 17025 third-party testing. Choose your size, and both harnesses in the pack ship in that size.

Who Needs This Product

The Warthog Side D-Ring Harness is the wearable part of a personal fall arrest and work positioning system - a full body harness with a dorsal D-ring for fall arrest plus a pair of hip-level side D-rings for positioning. This 2-pack is built for the crew lead outfitting two workers at once where positioning matters: rebar and concrete crews, tower and structural work, and utility teams who lean into a positioning lanyard while working hands-free. Each worker still needs a compatible connecting device and an anchorage rated for fall arrest, plus a positioning lanyard if the side D-rings are used.

Features

Two harnesses, one size

Each kit contains two identical Warthog harnesses in the size you select, so a two-person crew gears up from a single line item.

Side positioning D-rings

A pair of hip-level side D-rings supports a positioning lanyard, allowing workers to lean back and work hands-free.

Break-away lanyard keepers

Dual break-away keepers hold the lanyard legs out of the way and release cleanly the moment a fall begins.

Reflective webbing

High-visibility reflective webbing helps keep workers seen in low light and around moving equipment.

Pass-thru chest buckle

A pass-thru chest buckle plus a Premium Velcro label jacket keeps the fit secure and the inspection labels protected.

Independently verified

Backed by a Malta Dynamics Declaration of Conformity with third-party testing performed under ISO 17025 accreditation.

A harness alone will not stop a fall. Each Warthog is one part of a complete personal fall arrest system. Pair every harness with a compatible connecting device and an anchorage rated for fall arrest, inspect the harness before each use, calculate fall clearance below the work surface, and remove any harness from service after a fall or once its fall indicator has deployed.

Compliance Standards

ANSI Z359.11-2021

ANSI/ASSP standard for full body harnesses, covering design, strength, and labeling. The Warthog is certified to this standard per its Declaration of Conformity.

ANSI A10.32-2012

ANSI/ASSP standard for fall protection systems used in construction and demolition operations.

OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M

Construction fall protection, including the personal fall arrest system requirements of 1926.502.

OSHA 29 CFR 1910

General industry fall-protection requirements for personal fall-arrest equipment.

Fit and Donning Overview

Don and adjust per the Malta Dynamics Warthog user instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect. Check webbing, stitching, the back D-ring, buckles, and the fall indicator on each harness before every use.
  2. Don. Slip the harness over the shoulders and bring the leg straps up between the legs.
  3. Buckle the legs. Engage each tongue-and-buckle leg strap and the pass-thru chest buckle at the proper setting.
  4. Adjust. Snug the torso and leg straps so a flat hand fits under the webbing - no slack, no pinching.
  5. Position the D-ring. Center the back D-ring between the shoulder blades.
  6. Connect. Clip a compatible self-retracting lifeline or shock-absorbing lanyard to the back D-ring and to an anchorage rated for fall arrest, then verify fall clearance.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect each harness before every use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every six months (or more often per your program). Remove a harness from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Webbing: cuts, frays, burns, chemical damage, broken fibers, or heavy abrasion.
  • Stitching: pulled, cut, or broken stitches at load-bearing seams.
  • D-ring and hardware: cracks, distortion, sharp edges, corrosion, or rough operation.
  • Buckles and adjusters: slipping, distortion, or parts that will not lock.
  • Fall indicator: any deployed or activated indicator.
  • Labels: the ID and certification labels must remain legible and attached.

Retirement triggers: any fall-arrest event, a deployed fall indicator, or any of the damage above. A harness that has arrested a fall must be removed from service permanently.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes in the Warthog Side D-Ring Harness 2-Pack?
The kit ships two identical Warthog Side D-Ring Harness full body harnesses in the single size you select. Both harnesses are the same size - the pack is not a mixed-size set. Choose your size and you receive two of that size.
Why buy a 2-pack instead of single harnesses, and who is it for?
The Warthog is an economy harness, so most crews buy more than one. The 2-pack lets a two-worker team, a foreman outfitting a small crew, or a rental and fleet operation stocking spares gear up two workers from a single line item instead of ordering singles one at a time. Both harnesses ship in the same selected size.
What is the weight capacity of each harness?
Each Warthog harness has an ANSI capacity range of 130 to 310 lb per worker, including the worker plus tools and equipment. The maximum arrest force is limited to 1,800 lb (8 kN) when paired with compliant connecting equipment.
Which sizes are available and how do I pick one?
Three sizes are offered: S-M (B1101), L-XL (B1102), and XXL (B1103). Both harnesses in the pack ship in the size you choose. Use the Malta Dynamics sizing chart and follow the user manual to confirm the harness adjusts to a snug, secure fit for each worker.
Which OSHA and ANSI standards does the Warthog meet?
Per the Declaration of Conformity, the Warthog Side D-Ring Harness conforms to ANSI Z359.11-2021 for full body harnesses, ANSI A10.32-2012, OSHA 1926 Subpart M, and OSHA 1910. It is OSHA-compliant for personal fall arrest when used as part of a complete system.
Has the harness been independently tested?
Yes. Per the Malta Dynamics Declaration of Conformity, the Warthog passed testing under ISO 17025 accreditation, including independent third-party laboratory testing. The Declaration of Conformity PDF is linked in the Submittals section below for your submittal package.
What else do I need to build a complete fall protection system?
The harness is the wearable component only. Each worker also needs a compatible connecting device - a self-retracting lifeline or a shock-absorbing lanyard - clipped to the back D-ring and to an anchorage rated for fall arrest. Size the connector free fall and deceleration distance to the fall clearance available below the work surface, and use the Fall Protection Calculator above to plan the system.
