Roof Jack Pro Pack: Walk-Boards For Standing Seam Roofs

The Roof Jack Pro Pack is an all-in-one kit designed for roofing contractors and solar installers. It provides a secure, non-penetrating walk-board mounting solution for most standing-seam roofs. This comprehensive package includes 8 Standing Seam Roof Anchor (SSRA1) seam anchors and 4 SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jack adapters, allowing workers to mount 20' of walk-boards with zero panel penetrations.

Non-Penetrating Anchors: The SSRA1 Seam Anchors

The SSRA1 anchors offer a revolutionary non-penetrating design that ensures the integrity of standing-seam roofs. Made from solid 6061-T6 aluminum, each anchor features 12 stainless steel set screws (for 22-gauge steel panels) and 12 nylon-tipped stainless steel set screws (for 22-gauge or 24-gauge steel panels). Engineered to revolutionize fall protection anchorage attachment, the SSRA1 is unlike anything currently available, offering a patented design that maintains roof integrity while providing superior safety.

Unmatched Strength and Durability: Tested Beyond Standards

The SSRA1 anchors withstand up to 14,500 lbs. of Ultimate Breaking Strength load, exceeding OSHA and ANSI requirements of 5,000 lbs. This incredible strength is due to the anchor body's patented structural design, which ensures unmatched durability. The SSRA1 was tested for falls in all directions around the anchor point, not just at a downward angle, as with most seam anchors.

Lightweight and Easy Installation: Save Time and Effort

Weighing only 4.5 lbs., the SSRA1 is the world's lightest OSHA 5,000 lb.-certified anchor. Using hand tools, an experienced worker can install an SSRA1 seam anchor in about two minutes and remove it in about one minute. This ease of use reduces downtime and increases efficiency for permanent or temporary installations.

Versatile Compatibility: Fits Over 500 Standing Seam Panel Profiles

The SSRA1's patented, universal-fit design works with over 500 standing-seam panel profiles, including T-seams, bulb seams, SnapLok, single lok, double lok, and MR-24-style panels. This versatility ensures that no other anchor fits as many profiles as the SSRA1, making it an indispensable tool for roofing contractors or solar installers. It is compatible with devices from various fall protection manufacturers, enhancing its utility across applications. The SSRA1 anchors fit the 8 most popular seam profiles currently manufactured.

▶ SSRA1 Compatibility Overview

This Panel Compatibility Chart is provided only as a reference for what the SSRA1 will physically mount to. It does not determine the structural integrity of any roof system or seam. It is the Qualified person's responsibility to verify structural suitability in the event of a fall. The SSRA1 fits over 95% of standing seam panels. It is approved only for 22- and 24-gauge steel and is not compatible with aluminum, zinc, copper, or other soft metals. Do not install on curved, tapered, or batten-seam profiles.

▶ Nailstrip Panel Warning

Nailstrip-style panels are approximately 50% compatible. Some seams are too wide at the base, which can allow anchor movement during installation. Treat compatibility lists as guidelines, not guarantees.

▶ Installer Responsibility

It is solely the installer's or specifier's responsibility to confirm SSRA1 suitability for the specific panel and application The employer and the designated Competent Person are solely responsible for evaluating, determining, and documenting the structural suitability of the supporting structure, including its ability to withstand all loads that may occur during a fall or related event. The manufacturer does not review, verify, or warrant the structural capacity of any building, roof system, or attachment surface and assumes no responsibility for structural assessment, adequacy, or performance under fall-arrest or fall-restraint conditions.

▶ Test Fit Recommendation

Perform a test fit with an RCT seam clamp or SSRA1 anchor well before installation to confirm proper engagement with your exact panel profile.

▶ Set-Screw Options
  • Cupped-tip: 22-ga steel—torque to 90 in-lbs
  • Nylon-tip: 22/24-ga steel—torque to 180–200 in-lbs
▶ Surface Impact

Minor seam dimpling and paint abrasion may occur. Scratches can be touched up with a matching paint pen.

Roof Jack Pro Pack Frequently Asked Questions

How many feet of walk-boards can I mount with this kit?

The Roof Jack Pro Pack is designed to mount up to 20 linear feet of walk-boards across multiple seams. It includes 8 SSRA1 anchors and 4 SSRA2 Roof Jack adapters to distribute the load securely across the roof structure.

Does the unboxing video above show exactly what I receive?

Yes. As shown in our unboxing video above, the Pro Pack includes the SSRA1 anchors, SSRA2 adapters, Grade 8 hardware, and the calibrated micro-torque wrench required for a code-compliant, professional installation.

Are these anchors compatible with SnapLok or MR-24 roof panels?

Yes. The SSRA1 anchors feature a patented universal-fit body that works with over 500 seam profiles, including SnapLok, bulb seams, and trapezoidal Butler MR-24 profiles, without penetrating the metal panels.

What is the weight capacity of this staging setup?

The system is rated to support one worker per 10-foot walkboard, plus tools. It is intended for staging and stability, not as a primary multi-user fall arrest anchor system.

Can the adapters be leveled on steep pitches?

Yes. The SSRA2 Adjustable adapters can fit roofs with a 12/12 pitch or less. The multi-position bracket allows you to level the 2" x 10" walk-board surface regardless of the roof's slope.

Is it safe to use this pack on 24-gauge steel roofs?

Yes. For 24-gauge steel, you must utilize the nylon-tipped set screws included in this pack. These should be torqued to 180-200 in-lbs to ensure a certified hold without damaging the thinner metal.

How do I avoid common issues with SSRA2 Roof Jack installs?

To ensure a safe installation, follow these three technical rules:

  • 1. Improper Alignment: Ensure base anchors are installed on the same horizontal plane to prevent the board from twisting or sitting unevenly.
  • 2. Overtightening Legs: Padded stabilizer feet should be snug against the panel to prevent wobble, but do not tighten them so hard that they dimple the metal.
  • 3. Wrong Substrate: Never install on copper, aluminum, or zinc seams. These metals are too soft for the set-screw pressure required for secure walk-board staging.

About Standing Seam Roof Anchor

In 2015, the Standing Seam Roof Anchor System began providing specialized fall protection solutions for standing seam roofs. It all started with the SSRA1 seam anchor, designed to lock onto 95% of all standing seam profiles without penetrating the panels or violating warranties. This patented innovation was the first one-piece design in the industry that used six pairs of opposing set screws for seam attachment.

A couple of months later, the SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jack adapter was released, making walkboards possible on standing seam roofs. The adjustable height side legs stabilize the roof seams and create a stable walkboard surface. After that, we introduced the SSRA3 Anchor Plate, which allows for the deployment of temporary horizontal lifelines on standing seam roofs without penetrations. This comprehensive product line offers unmatched safety and reliability across multiple industries in the U.S. and Canada. All Standing Seam Roof Anchor products are proudly designed and fabricated in the U.S.A.
