Who Needs This Product

The wire rope lanyard is a connecting device for steel erection, welding, and construction trades that need a cut and heat resistant lanyard near sharp edges or hot work. Complete the system with a full-body harness, energy absorber where required, and a rated anchor.

Features

3/8 inch 7x19 cable

Galvanized aircraft cable resists cuts, heat, and abrasion.

Three end configurations

Large D-ring, single snaphook, or dual snaphook.

Six lengths

3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 foot options.

Galvanized finish

Corrosion resistant for outdoor and industrial use.

Cut resistant

Wire rope holds up near sharp edges and hot work better than web or rope.

ANSI Z359

Meets the American National Standard for connecting components.

This is one component of a personal fall-arrest system. Use an energy absorber where a fall-arrest application requires one; a wire rope lanyard alone does not absorb fall energy. Inspect before each use and confirm compatibility, capacity, and fall clearance. Run the Fall Protection Calculator below before you tie off.

Follow the Super Anchor Safety instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect. Check for wear, cuts, distortion, corrosion, and gate or hardware function before each use.
  2. Confirm compatibility. Verify the component, harness, and anchor are compatible and rated.
  3. Connect. Make the connection and confirm every gate is fully closed and locked.
  4. Verify. Confirm the full system, capacity, and fall clearance.
  5. Use. Work within the rated limits of the system.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the product from service for any condition below.

  • Webbing or body: cuts, frays, abrasion, burns, corrosion, or distortion.
  • Stitching: pulled, cut, or broken threads.
  • Gates and locks: proper close and lock function.
  • Fall indicators: any sign of deployment.
  • Labels: illegible or missing markings.

Retire the anchor immediately after any fall-arrest event, or if any inspection point fails.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 1334?
The Super Anchor 1334 is a 3/8 inch 7x19 galvanized aircraft cable lanyard in the dual snaphook configuration, with snaphooks on both ends, in 3 to 8 foot lengths for fall arrest and positioning. Always inspect the product before each use and take it out of service if you notice any damage, deformation, or excessive wear. Pair it only with connectors and equipment that are approved for use together so the complete system performs as designed.
For the 1334, what end configurations are offered?
A large D-ring with snaphook (1332), single snaphook (1333), or dual snaphook on both ends (1334). Make sure the connecting hardware and anchorage suit your application before you attach a lanyard or lifeline. Store it in a clean, dry place away from heat and chemicals to help preserve its condition between uses.
For the 1334, what is the cable?
3/8 inch 7x19 galvanized aircraft cable. See the Technical Specifications on this page for the exact materials, dimensions, and ratings. For complete protection, pair it with a compatible full body harness, connector, and shock absorbing lanyard or self retracting lifeline. Confirm each component in the system is compatible and rated for the intended use before connecting to it.
Why choose the 1334 configuration?
The 1334 dual snaphook build gives crews the same cut resistant cable with hook hardware at both terminations for fast connections at either end. Keep the manufacturer instructions with the equipment so anyone using it can reference the approved procedures. Store it in a clean, dry place away from heat and chemicals to help preserve its condition between uses.
For the 1334, do I need an energy absorber?
Yes, where a fall-arrest application requires one; wire rope does not absorb fall energy on its own. Confirm each component in the system is compatible and rated for the intended use before connecting to it. Always inspect the product before each use and take it out of service if you notice any damage, deformation, or excessive wear.
For the 1334, what standard does it meet?
ANSI Z359 for connecting components. Make sure the connecting hardware and anchorage suit your application before you attach a lanyard or lifeline. Store it in a clean, dry place away from heat and chemicals to help preserve its condition between uses. Keep the manufacturer instructions with the equipment so anyone using it can reference the approved procedures.
What completes a system with the 1334?
Yes. You also need a full-body harness and a rated anchor. Confirm each component in the system is compatible and rated for the intended use before connecting to it. A qualified person should verify that the installation and the overall system meet the requirements of your specific job site.
