Safety first. A body belt alone is never acceptable for fall arrest. Use this belt for positioning or restraint only, and always pair it with a full body harness and a separate fall arrest connection when a fall hazard exists.

Compliance Standards

ANSI Z359.11-2014

Meets the ANSI/ASSP standard for full body harnesses, covering design, testing, and marking requirements.

OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.66

Satisfies OSHA construction and general industry requirements for personal fall arrest system body support.

Applications

Work positioningTradesmen who need hands-free positioning on rebar, poles, and vertical structures.
Restraint systemsCrews using restraint to keep workers away from an unprotected edge.
Tool supportWorkers carrying tool pouches and hardware on a reinforced belt.
Utility and line workLinemen and utility technicians positioning on poles and towers.
Concrete and rebarRodbusters tying rebar who position against the curtain for hands-free work.
Combined with a harnessAdding positioning capability to a compatible full body harness.

How to Use

A work positioning belt supports the worker for hands-free tasks and always works alongside, never instead of, fall arrest protection.

  1. Inspect first. Check the belt body, D-rings, tongue buckle, and grommets for wear or deformation before each shift.
  2. Position the belt. Seat the belt on the hips so the side D-rings fall at natural hand height.
  3. Buckle and adjust. Fasten the buckle and tension the belt so it stays put without restricting movement.
  4. Rig for positioning. Connect a positioning lanyard to both side D-rings around the structure.
  5. Verify before loading. Lean back gradually to load the system, keeping fall arrest protection connected separately.

Inspection and Service Life

Inspect before each use and on the same formal schedule as the harness it supports. Log formal inspections so the service history follows the equipment.

  • Webbing and fabric: look for cuts, fraying, burns, chemical damage, and UV fading
  • Stitching: check for pulled, broken, or abraded threads at every seam
  • Hardware: confirm no cracks, corrosion, or distortion, and that buckles and closures engage positively
  • Attachment points: verify hook-and-loop, snaps, and routings hold securely
  • Markings: verify identification and size markings remain legible

Remove the item from service if any inspection point fails, and destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.
