Who Needs This Product

This product is a personal self-retracting lifeline (SRL-P), a fall-arrest connecting device that pays out and retracts automatically and locks in inches if a fall starts. The 10 ft web lifeline gives more working range than a 6 ft mini for overhead-anchored fall arrest. You still need a certified full-body harness and a rated anchorage to complete the system.

Features

Hands-free 10 ft web lifeline

The abrasion-resistant Dyneema web retracts as you move, with 10 ft of working range.

Class B SRL

Conforms to ANSI Z359.14 as a Class B device for overhead fall arrest.

Snap or rebar hook

Order with a steel snap hook (standard) or a transverse-load-rated steel rebar hook.

Steel dorsal carabiner

Includes a steel connecting carabiner for the harness dorsal D-ring.

Glass-reinforced housing

Impact-resistant housing with internal inertial brakes for reliable lockup.

ANSI and CSA certified

Select ANSI Z359.14 or CSA Z259.2.2-2017 to match your jobsite.

Overhead anchorage, not for leading edges. This is a web personal SRL for overhead-anchored fall arrest. It is not rated for foot-level or sharp-edge (leading-edge) use where the lifeline could contact an edge in a fall. Anchor overhead, and run the Fall Protection Calculator below to confirm clearance.

How to Use the DuraTech 10' Web SRL

Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect. Check the lifeline, braking (sharp-pull lock test), housing, energy absorber, and all connectors before each use.
  2. Anchor. Connect the anchorage carabiner to a rated overhead anchor.
  3. Connect to the harness. Attach the connector to the dorsal D-ring of a certified full-body harness.
  4. Confirm the connections. Verify every gate is fully closed and locked.
  5. Verify clearance. Confirm fall clearance and swing-fall below the work surface, and run the calculator below.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the SRL from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Lifeline: cuts, fraying, abrasion, corrosion, kinks, burns, or chemical damage.
  • Braking: the lifeline must lock sharply on a quick pull test.
  • Housing: cracks, loose fasteners, or a damaged lifeline exit.
  • Energy absorber / load indicator: any sign of deployment or activation.
  • Connectors and swivels: deformation, corrosion, or gates that fail to lock.

Retire the SRL immediately after any fall-arrest event, or if any inspection point fails. Destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What certification and hook options are available?
Select ANSI Z359.14 (US) or CSA Z259.2.2-2017 (Canada), and a steel snap hook (standard) or steel rebar hook, at checkout.
What is the rated capacity?
A single user with a combined weight of 130 to 310 lb, including tools and clothing.
Do I need a harness with this SRL?
Yes. An SRL is a connecting device only. You need a certified full-body harness and a rated anchorage to complete the personal fall-arrest system.
What is the difference between fall arrest and fall restraint?
Fall arrest catches a worker after a fall happens; fall restraint prevents the worker from reaching the fall hazard in the first place. Use the Fall Protection Calculator below to size the right system.
How often should this SRL be inspected?
Inspect before every use, plus a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months (more often in harsh conditions). Keep inspection records for the life of the unit.
Can the SRL be used after it arrests a fall?
No. Remove any SRL from service immediately after a fall-arrest event and destroy it so it cannot be reused.
What harness works with this SRL?
Any certified full-body harness with a fall-arrest dorsal (back) D-ring. Connect the SRL to the dorsal D-ring.
