FallTech DuraTech Mini 6 ft Web Twin-Leg Personal SRL, Class 1 (ANSI or CSA)

The FallTech DuraTech Mini is a compact 6 ft web twin-leg personal self-retracting lifeline (SRL-P) for overhead-anchored fall arrest with 100% tie-off. The Dyneema web lifeline pays out as you move and locks in a fall, and an external energy absorber with internal locking pawls keeps arrest forces within safe limits. It delivers Class 1 performance well beyond a traditional energy-absorbing lanyard, and may be anchored up to 5 ft below the dorsal D-ring.

Choose your certification and hook at checkout: ANSI Z359.14-2021 for US jobsites or CSA Z259.2.2-2017 for Canada, with a steel snap hook (standard) or a transverse-load-rated steel rebar hook at the anchorage. Rated for a single user of 130 to 310 lb combined weight. This is an overhead-anchorage Class 1 SRL and is not rated for leading-edge use.

Who Needs This Product

This product is a personal self-retracting lifeline (SRL-P), a fall-arrest connecting device that pays out and retracts automatically and locks in inches if a fall starts. Construction, maintenance, and structural crews clip in for hands-free overhead protection with less fall distance than a lanyard. The twin-leg version keeps you connected while transferring between anchors. You still need a certified full-body harness and a rated overhead anchorage to complete the system.

Features

Hands-free retracting lifeline

The Dyneema web lifeline retracts as you move, with no slack to manage and less fall distance than a lanyard.

Class 1 personal SRL

Certified Class 1 to ANSI Z359.14-2021 for overhead anchorage, with an arrest distance under 42 in.

Anchor up to 5 ft below the D-ring

Rated to anchor as far as 5 ft below the dorsal D-ring for real-world tie-off positions.

Snap or rebar hook

Order with a steel snap hook (standard) or a transverse-load-rated steel rebar hook for large-opening anchors.

External energy absorber

An external energy absorber with internal locking pawls delivers smooth deceleration and positive lockup.

ANSI and CSA certified

Select ANSI Z359.14-2021 or CSA Z259.2.2-2017 to match your jobsite.

Overhead anchorage only, not for leading edges. This is a Class 1 personal SRL for overhead-anchored use, rated for a maximum 2 ft free fall. It is not rated for foot-level or sharp-edge (leading-edge) applications where the lifeline could contact an edge in a fall. Anchor overhead, keep the anchor no more than 5 ft below the dorsal D-ring, and run the Fall Protection Calculator below to confirm clearance.

How to Use the DuraTech Mini SRL

Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect. Check the web lifeline, braking (sharp-pull lock test), housing, energy absorber, and all connectors before each use.
  2. Anchor overhead. Connect the anchorage end to a rated overhead anchor, no more than 5 ft below the dorsal D-ring.
  3. Connect to the harness. Attach the dorsal carabiner to the D-ring of a certified full-body harness.
  4. Confirm the connections. Verify every gate is fully closed and locked.
  5. Verify clearance. Confirm fall clearance and swing-fall below the work surface, and run the calculator below.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the SRL from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Web lifeline: cuts, fraying, abrasion, burns, or chemical damage.
  • Braking: the lifeline must lock sharply on a quick pull test.
  • Housing: cracks, loose fasteners, or a damaged lifeline exit.
  • Energy absorber: any sign of deployment or a torn cover.
  • Connectors and swivels: deformation, corrosion, or gates that fail to lock.

Retire the SRL immediately after any fall-arrest event, or if any inspection point fails. Destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the DuraTech Mini leading-edge rated?
No. It is a Class 1 personal SRL for overhead anchorage only, rated for a maximum 2 ft free fall. Do not use it at foot level or where the lifeline could contact a sharp edge; use a leading-edge rated SRL for those applications.
What certification options are available?
Select ANSI Z359.14-2021 for US jobsites or CSA Z259.2.2-2017 for Canada at checkout, and choose a steel snap hook (standard) or a steel rebar hook for the anchorage connection.
What is the rated capacity?
A single user with a combined weight of 130 to 310 lb, including tools and clothing.
How far below the anchor can I work?
The Mini may be anchored up to 5 ft below the dorsal D-ring. Anchoring below the D-ring increases free fall and arrest distance, so confirm clearance with the Fall Protection Calculator.
What is the arrest distance?
Under 42 in for Class 1 overhead use, and up to 82 in worst case when anchored 5 ft below the D-ring, with an average arrest force of 839 lb per the test data.
Snap hook or rebar hook, which should I choose?
Choose the steel snap hook (standard) for most rated anchor points; choose the steel rebar hook for large-opening anchorages such as rebar and structural steel.
Do I need a harness with this SRL?
Yes. An SRL is a connecting device only. You need a certified full-body harness and a rated overhead anchorage to complete the personal fall-arrest system.

Specifying SRLs for Your Crew?

SRLs, harnesses, and anchors have to match the work height and the edge. Confirm your application, anchorage, and clearance with us and we will walk through the kit list so the right equipment ships together.
