FallTech 9' Arc Flash MAX Personal SRL, Twin-Leg
The 82909 9 ft Arc Flash MAX SRL, Twin-Leg is a 9' Arc Flash MAX personal self-retracting device (SRL-P), a twin-leg 100 percent tie-off SRD whose arc-rated Kevlar web lifeline retracts and pays out as you move and locks to arrest a fall quickly.
It is certified to ANSI Z359.14-2012, for one worker up to 310 lb. Choose the connector configuration for your anchor and harness. It is arc-rated for electrical and arc-flash work.

Who Needs This Product
This product is a personal self-retracting device (SRL-P), the connecting component of a personal fall arrest system. A worker wears the SRD on the harness dorsal (or ties it off overhead) and the retractable arc-rated Kevlar web lifeline pays out and retracts, locking to arrest a fall. This twin-leg version gives 100 percent tie-off for continuous connection while moving between anchor points. It is arc-rated for work near electrical and arc-flash hazards. You still need a certified full-body harness and a rated anchorage.
Features
Retractable Kevlar lifeline
The 9' lifeline pays out and retracts with movement and locks to arrest a fall quickly.
ANSI Z359.14-2012
Certified self-retracting device, Class A.
100 percent tie-off
Two retractable legs keep you connected while moving between anchors.

Configure the housing and anchor-end connectors for your setup.
Arc-rated Kevlar lifeline
The Kevlar web lifeline resists heat and arc-flash exposure far better than standard web, for electrical work.
Standard overhead use
A non-leading-edge SRD for overhead anchorage; use an edge-rated device for sharp edges.
Arc-rated, Class A, non-leading-edge. The Kevlar web resists arc flash but is not fireproof; follow your arc-flash and electrical safety program. Anchor overhead or up to 5 ft below the dorsal D-ring with no edge hazard; use an edge-rated device for sharp edges. Confirm required fall clearance and swing-fall with the Fall Protection Calculator below.
Compliance Standards
ANSI Z359.14-2012
Self-retracting device standard (Class A).
ANSI A10.32
Construction fall protection standard.
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502
Federal construction fall protection requirements.

For overhead anchorage; not for sharp edges.
Typical Applications
How to Use
Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check the lifeline, retraction, lock, housing, and connectors before each use.
- Mount the SRD. Connect the housing to your harness dorsal (SRL-P) or a rated overhead anchor.
- Connect the lifeline. Attach the lifeline connector(s) to a rated anchor.
- Check the lock. Pull the lifeline sharply to confirm it locks, then let it retract smoothly.
- Confirm clearance. Verify required fall clearance and swing-fall with the calculator below.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.
- Lifeline: cuts, fraying, burns, chemical damage.
- Retraction and lock: a lifeline that will not retract or lock on a sharp pull.
- Housing and hardware: cracks, deformation, or corrosion.
- Connectors and hooks: bent gates, corrosion, or gates that will not lock.
- Labels: illegible or missing markings.
Remove the anchor from service immediately after any fall-arrest event, and destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.
