Who Needs This Product
Contractors, facility managers, and safety directors buy harness and lanyard combos when a new hire, subcontractor, or visitor needs compliant fall protection today. This set pairs the FallTech 7016 Contractor harness with the 8259L energy absorbing lanyard. One SKU on the PO, one package on the shelf, one worker equipped.
Features
7016 Contractor harness
1D (dorsal) full-body harness rated for fall arrest with a 5,000 lb minimum static strength dorsal D-ring.
Simple buckle adjustment
The harness provides workers with tongue buckle legs and a mating buckle chest for a fast, secure fit.
8259L energy absorbing lanyard
A 6 ft single-leg internal energy absorbing lanyard that limits average arrest force to 900 lb.
Connector hardware
The lanyard includes a choke-loop for harness attachment and a plated alloy steel snap hook for the anchorage.
Matched components
Combination includes: 7016 harness and 8259L lanyard.
Ready to issue
Sized, matched, and boxed as one line item so crews are equipped without piecing parts together.
A kit equips a worker, an anchor completes the system. The harness and lanyard still need a rated anchor point, and a 6 ft energy absorbing lanyard needs roughly 18.5 ft of fall clearance below the anchor. Run the calculator below before the first tie-off.
Compliance Standards
ANSI Z359.11-2021

Typical Applications
How to Use
Follow the FallTech instruction manuals. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Fit the harness. Don the harness, adjust the leg and chest buckles, and check the dorsal D-ring sits between the shoulder blades.
- Connect the lanyard. Attach the lanyard choke-loop to the dorsal D-ring web loop per the manual; the hook end connects to a rated anchor.
- Verify clearance. A 6 ft energy absorbing lanyard needs roughly 18.5 ft of clearance below the anchor; run the calculator on this page.
- Inspect before each use. Webbing, stitching, hardware, and the energy absorber pack.
- Keep the set together. Issue the harness and lanyard as one unit so inspection records stay matched.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect the harness and lanyard before each use, with a documented competent person inspection at least annually.
- Webbing: cuts, burns, fraying, UV chalking, and chemical damage.
- Stitching: broken or pulled threads at load-bearing seams.
- Hardware: buckles, D-rings, and hooks free of cracks, corrosion, and gate defects.
- Energy absorber: pack cover intact with no deployment evidence.
- Labels: legible with serial and date recorded in the inspection log.
Retirement triggers: any fall arrest event, a deployed absorber, damaged webbing or hardware, or a failed inspection.
