COB5K ALPHA Swivel 5K Concrete Anchor
The COB5K is the concrete member of Frontline's newly designed ALPHA reusable anchor family. Its signature feature is the swiveling D-ring that rotates a full 360 degrees and pivots front to back through a complete 180 degree angle, giving the worker best-in-class mobility while the connecting device stays aligned instead of side-loading the anchor.
Built from steel and finished in galvanized zinc with yellow passivation for corrosion protection, the ALPHA anchor works indoors or outdoors, installed permanently or temporarily on concrete substrates - and the mounting bolt is included. The anchor body is reusable: when the crew moves to a new anchoring point, swap in a fresh COB5K-RB replacement bolt and keep working. 5,000 lb tensile strength, 310 lb user capacity, conforming to ANSI Z359.18 and Z359.7 with OSHA 1926 and 1910 alignment.

Who Needs This Product
This product is a reusable anchorage connector - the anchor point of a personal fall arrest or fall restraint system on concrete. Concrete contractors, maintenance crews, and facility teams bolt it down wherever a swiveling tie-off is needed, permanently or temporarily. Each worker still needs a full body harness and a compatible connecting device attached to the D-ring.
Features
Full swivel D-ring
Rotates 360 degrees and pivots front to back through 180 degrees, so the lifeline tracks the worker for best mobility.
Galvanized zinc finish
Yellow passivation over galvanized zinc delivers corrosion protection for indoor and outdoor service.
Bolt included
Ships with the concrete mounting bolt - install it out of the box.
Reusable with replaceable bolt
Move the anchor body to the next anchoring point with a fresh COB5K-RB replacement bolt.
Permanent or temporary
Leave it installed as a fixed tie-off or relocate it with the work.
Compact footprint
Just 3 x 2 x 1.8 inches and 1.2 lbs - a serious anchor that disappears into the gear bag.

The concrete carries the load. The concrete substrate and installation hardware must be verified by a qualified person for the intended fall protection load before use. One worker per anchor at 310 lbs maximum - install a new COB5K-RB bolt at every new anchoring point per the manual, and calculate fall clearance before tying off.
Compliance Standards
ANSI Z359.18
American National Standard for anchorage connectors used in active fall protection systems.
ANSI Z359.7
Qualification and verification testing of fall protection products by accredited third-party laboratories.
OSHA 1926
Federal construction fall protection requirements, including anchorage criteria.
OSHA 1910
General industry walking-working surfaces and personal fall protection requirements.
Typical Applications
Installation Overview
Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check the D-ring, swivel action, anchor body, bolt, and label before each installation.
- Verify structure. Have a qualified person confirm the concrete carries the intended fall protection load.
- Drill. Drill the anchor hole to the diameter, depth, and edge distances specified in the manual.
- Bolt. Install the anchor with the included bolt and torque to the manual specification.
- Check the swivel. Confirm the D-ring rotates and pivots freely with no binding.
- Connect. Attach the connecting device to the D-ring and verify fall clearance before work begins.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the equipment from service for any of the conditions below.
- D-ring and body: bending, cracks, nicks, gouges, or wear at the connection point.
- Swivel action: binding, grinding, or excessive play in the rotation or pivot.
- Bolt and threads: corrosion, thread damage, or loss of torque - use a new COB5K-RB bolt at each new anchoring point.
- Finish: corrosion or damage that exposes bare steel.
- Markings: missing or illegible product label.
Retire the anchor immediately after any fall arrest event, any deformation or crack, or any condition where it cannot be verified as safe for service.
