Malta Dynamics A7360 5K Swivel Anchor for Steel (2-Pack) – 360° Rotating Safety Anchor

The Malta Dynamics A7360 5K Swivel Anchor is a versatile and reliable anchorage solution for structural steel substrates, designed to provide maximum safety and mobility for workers at height. With its 360° Swivel and 180° flip capabilities, this anchor significantly reduces lanyard entanglement risks and allows for a full range of motion while maintaining a secure 5,000-lb-rated attachment point. Crafted from durable zinc-plated steel and meeting rigorous ANSI and OSHA standards, the A7360 is the professional choice for construction, industrial maintenance, and high-risk steel-erection environments.

Working on Concrete? For masonry applications, the Malta Dynamics A7360C Swivel Anchor provides the same high-performance safety tailored specifically for concrete-surface attachment.

Malta Dynamics A7360 5K Swivel Anchor FAQ

1. Can the A7360 steel anchor be used on concrete?

No. The A7360 is designed for steel substrates. While the anchor head is similar, the mounting hardware and base requirements differ. For concrete surfaces, you must use the A7360C, which is specifically engineered for masonry attachment.

2. What are the advantages of the 360° swivel design?

Standard fixed anchors can cause lanyards to twist or "bunch," which increases the risk of tri-axial loading (pulling the anchor in a direction it wasn't tested for). The 360° swivel and 180° flip ensure the anchor always aligns with the direction of the pull, maintaining maximum safety and worker mobility.

3. What size bolt is required for installation on steel?

Installation typically requires a 5/8-inch Grade 8 bolt and nut assembly. Always refer to the A7360 Instruction Manual above for the specific torque requirements and fastener grades necessary to maintain the 5,000-lb rating.

4. Is this anchor rated for Fall Arrest or Fall Restraint?

The A7360 is a 5,000-lb rated anchor, making it suitable for Fall Arrest, Fall Restraint, and Work Positioning. It is designed for a single user with a total weight (including tools) of up to 310 lbs.

5. How do I maintain the zinc-plated finish?

While zinc plating offers excellent corrosion resistance, the anchor should be inspected regularly for signs of pitting or "white rust." If the anchor is used in a highly corrosive environment (like near saltwater), more frequent inspections are required to ensure structural integrity.

6. Can I use this anchor as part of a Horizontal Lifeline system?

Swivel anchors are excellent for HLL systems because they help manage the "end forces" of the line. However, any HLL system must be designed and approved by a Qualified Person. Contact us for a custom HLL quote if you plan to use these as system endpoints.

7. How do I avoid common installation mistakes?

  • 1. Improper Torque: Under-tightening the mounting bolt can cause the anchor to wobble, while over-tightening can stress the fastener. Use a torque wrench.
  • 2. Surface Prep: Never install over heavy rust, paint, or debris that prevents the anchor base from sitting flush against the structural steel.
  • 3. Structural Verification: Ensure the steel member you are attaching to is capable of withstanding the 5,000-lb potential load.
