▶ SSRA1 Compatibility Overview
This Panel Compatibility Chart is provided only as a reference for what the SSRA1 will physically mount to. It does not determine the structural integrity of any roof system or seam. It is the Qualified person's responsibility to verify structural suitability in the event of a fall. The SSRA1 fits over 95% of standing seam panels. It is approved only for 22- and 24-gauge steel and is not compatible with aluminum, zinc, copper, or other soft metals. Do not install on curved, tapered, or batten-seam profiles.
▶ Nailstrip Panel Warning
Nailstrip-style panels are approximately 50% compatible. Some seams are too wide at the base, which can allow anchor movement during installation. Treat compatibility lists as guidelines, not guarantees.
▶ Installer Responsibility
It is solely the installer's or specifier's responsibility to confirm SSRA1 suitability for the specific panel and application. The employer and the designated Competent Person are solely responsible for evaluating, determining, and documenting the structural suitability of the supporting structure, including its ability to withstand all loads that may occur during a fall or related event. The manufacturer does not review, verify, or warrant the structural capacity of any building, roof system, or attachment surface and assumes no responsibility for structural assessment, adequacy, or performance under fall-arrest or fall-restraint conditions.
▶ Test Fit Recommendation
Perform a test fit with an RCT seam clamp or SSRA1 anchor well before installation to confirm proper engagement with your exact panel profile.
▶ Set-Screw Options
- Cupped-tip: 22-ga steel—torque to 90 in-lbs
- Nylon-tip: 22/24-ga steel—torque to 180–200 in-lbs
▶ Surface Impact
Minor seam dimpling and paint abrasion may occur. Scratches can be touched up with a matching paint pen.
An independent ISO 17025/ANSI Z359.18-certified materials testing facility recently conducted Ultimate Failure testing on the SSRA1. The results far exceeded our expectations and those of our competitor. Although the maximum testing protocol for OSHA and ANSI is 5,000 lbs., the SSRA1 was subjected to a 14,500-lb load. The test concluded when the Grade 8 top bolts sheared, leaving the aluminum anchor body completely unharmed or bent. This incredible strength is due to the anchor body's patented structural design. The SSRA1 is in a class of its own in the industry!
Standing Seam Roof Anchor SSRA1 Set Screw Technology
The set screw attachment is superior to compression-type anchors, which use bolts to squeeze the seam between the metal plates. The set screws prevent the device from sliding during impacts, unlike weaker compression designs that are prone to doing so. 22-gauge steel panels are compatible with cupped-tip and nylon-tipped set screws. 24-gauge steel panels require nylon-tipped set screws. Workers must use an inline shock absorber or shock pack when using the SSRA1.
Adapter Plates for SSRA1 Standing Seam Roof Anchors
The SSRA1 anchors are compatible with multiple adapter plates. The SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jacks and the SSRA3 Anchor Plate Adapters enable installation of walkboards and temporary horizontal lifelines on standing-seam roof systems.

The SSRA1 Roof Anchor Advantages For Homeowners, Building Owners, And Contractors:

SSRA1 8-Piece Contractor Pack Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the 8-Piece Contractor Pack the best value for large roofing crews?
OSHA requirements state that each worker must have an independent 5,000-lb certified tie-off point. The 8-Piece Contractor Pack provides a standardized safety solution for an entire team in a single bundle, offering significant per-unit cost savings and ensuring every worker uses the industry's lightest, most versatile non-penetrating anchor. The kit includes eight SSRA1 Anchors, eight dozen cupped tip screws, eight dozen nylon tip screw, eight 3/16-inch allen bits, a 1/4-inch torque wrench with a 3/16-inch socket bit, and manuals.
Can these anchors be used for permanent fall protection installations?
Yes. Because the SSRA1 is constructed from solid 6061-T6 aluminum and stainless steel hardware, it is highly resistant to corrosion. It has been ANSI/ASTM B-117 salt-spray tested, making it an excellent choice for permanent tie-off points on commercial facilities and coastal roof systems.
Do I need to use different set screws for 22-gauge vs. 24-gauge steel?
Yes. For 22-gauge steel, the standard cupped-tip set screws are recommended at 90 in-lbs of torque. For thinner 24-gauge steel panels, you must use the nylon-tipped set screws included in this bundle, torqued to 180-200 in-lbs, to ensure a certified hold without risking panel damage.
What specific hardware comes with the SSRA1 Contractor Pack?
Each pack contains 8 anchor bodies, 8 forged D-rings, and full sets of both cupped-tip and nylon-tipped screws. As shown in our unboxing video above, we also include a calibrated micro-torque wrench with the 3/16" socket bit to ensure your crew has every tool needed for a code-compliant installation right out of the box.
Does the SSRA1 work on SnapLok or MR-24 industrial profiles?
Yes, the patented universal-fit design of the SSRA1 body is engineered to fit over 500 standing seam profiles without reassembly. This includes SnapLok, T-seams, bulb seams, and trapezoidal profiles such as the Butler MR-24, making it the most versatile anchor on the global market.
Is one torque wrench sufficient for maintaining 8 different anchors?
Yes, the included 1/4" drive micro-torque wrench is a professional-grade precision tool. It is designed to accurately set all 96 set screws (12 per anchor) across the entire 8-piece pack, ensuring uniform safety across your jobsite.
How do I avoid common installation mistakes with SSRA1 anchors?
To ensure a 100% safe and compliant installation, follow these three critical technical rules:
- 1. Never Use Impact Drivers: Power tools can over-tighten screws, crushing the seam or stripping the aluminum threads. Always use the provided micro-torque wrench.
- 2. Verify Substrate Gauge: The SSRA1 is strictly for 22 or 24-gauge steel. Using it on softer metals like copper, aluminum, or zinc is prohibited as they cannot support the required 5,000-lb load.
- 3. Replace Consumable Tips: Nylon-tipped screws must be replaced every 3-5 uses to maintain the necessary coefficient of friction for a certified hold.
