FallTech 8' Web Retractor with Snap Hook and Carabiner
The 8262 8 ft Web Retractor is a compact overhead self-retracting lifeline with an 8' polyester web lifeline, a plated alloy steel snap hook, and a standard size captivated steel anchorage carabiner included. A PVC cover guards the internal steel frame, and an integrated steel swivel helps prevent lifeline twisting.
It meets OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.66 regulations for one worker from 130 to 310 lb. The lifeline assembly features a visual fall stitch indicator that shows at a glance whether the unit has arrested a fall. This is a non-leading-edge device for overhead tie-off.

Who Needs This Product
This product is a compact overhead self-retracting lifeline, the connecting component of a personal fall arrest system. A worker anchors the carabiner overhead and connects the snap hook to the harness dorsal D-ring; the web lifeline pays out and retracts with movement and locks to arrest a fall. You still need a certified full-body harness and a rated anchorage.

Typical Applications
How to Use
Follow the FallTech instruction manual (MSRL04). The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check the lifeline, fall indicator, retraction, lock, housing, and connectors before each use.
- Anchor overhead. Connect the captivated carabiner to a rated anchorage above the worker.
- Connect the lifeline. Attach the steel snap hook to the harness dorsal D-ring.
- Check the lock. Pull the lifeline sharply to confirm it locks, then let it retract smoothly.
- Confirm clearance. Verify required fall clearance and swing-fall with the calculator below.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the SRD from service for any of the conditions below.
- Lifeline: cuts, fraying, burns, chemical damage, or a deployed fall stitch indicator.
- Retraction and lock: a lifeline that will not retract or lock on a sharp pull.
- Housing and PVC cover: cracks, deformation, or corrosion.
- Snap hook and carabiner: bent gates, corrosion, or gates that will not lock.
- Labels: illegible or missing markings.
Remove the SRD from service immediately after any fall-arrest event, and destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.
