Nano-Lok 6 ft Personal Self-Retracting Lifeline with Anchor Hook, Carabiner and Steel Snap Hook
The Nano-Lok is the SRL that made bulky retractables obsolete: a compact 6 ft web lifeline in a durable thermoplastic housing that connects to an overhead anchor and follows the worker with constant lifeline tension. This 3100520 configuration carries a swiveling anchorage loop with a zinc-plated steel carabiner up top and a self-locking steel snap hook on the lifeline end.
Certified to ANSI/ASSP Z359.14-2021 Class 1 and rated to 420 lb, the Nano-Lok's quick-activating speed sensing brake arrests a fall within inches and achieves required fall clearance as low as 4 ft, roughly half of what a 6 ft shock absorbing lanyard needs. RFID equipped for inspection tracking through 3M Connected Safety ID.

Who Needs This Product
The Nano-Lok 3100520 is built for crews that anchor overhead and want the shortest possible arrest: the carabiner top connector clips to an overhead anchor point or anchorage connector, and the snap hook ties into the harness dorsal D-ring. Constant lifeline tension eliminates the dragging and snag hazards of a lanyard, and the compact housing weighs less than 3 lb. If your crew needs 100 percent tie-off, step up to a twin-leg Nano-Lok; for foot-level anchoring over an edge, use a Nano-Lok Edge Class 2 model instead.
Features
Swiveling Anchorage Loop with Carabiner
The top anchorage loop swivels to keep the housing aligned as the worker moves, and the zinc-plated steel carabiner (0.69 in gate, 3,600 lbf gate strength) clips to overhead anchors fast.
Quick-Activating Brake
The speed sensing brake system engages immediately, arresting a fall within inches and keeping average arrest force at 1,125 lbf.
Self-Locking Snap Hook
The 9502116 zinc-plated steel snap hook (0.75 in gate) closes and locks automatically, with a 3,600 lbf gate rating on the lifeline end.
External Energy Absorber
The high-capacity external energy absorber dissipates fall energy and doubles as an impact indicator that flags an arrested unit at a glance.
Compact and Lightweight
At 2.8 lb with a durable thermoplastic housing, the Nano-Lok rides all day without the bulk of legacy retractables.
RFID Equipped
Built-in RFID works with 3M Connected Safety ID for digital inspection records and fleet inventory management.

Anchor at or above the D-ring. This is a Class 1 device: it must be anchored at or above the dorsal D-ring with free fall limited to 2 ft, and it is not rated for foot-level tie-off or leading edge exposure. For foot-level anchoring over an edge, use a Nano-Lok Edge Class 2 model. Remove the unit from service immediately after any fall arrest.
Compliance Standards
ANSI/ASSP Z359.14-2021 Class 1
Certified as a Class 1 self-retracting device: anchor at or above the dorsal D-ring, maximum 2 ft free fall. The 2021 standard replaced the legacy Class A and B designations.
OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140
Meets OSHA personal fall arrest system requirements for construction and general industry with 420 lb capacity and 1,800 lbf maximum arrest force.
Anchorage Strength
Per the user instruction manual, non-certified fall arrest anchorages must sustain 5,000 lbf; certified anchorages require two times maximum arresting force per ANSI/ASSP Z359.2.
Connector Ratings
Both the 2000112 carabiner and 9502116 snap hook carry 3,600 lbf gate strength and 5,000 lbf tensile strength per the manual's connector specification table.
Typical Applications
Setup Overview
- Inspect the housing, lifeline, energy absorber and impact indicator, and both connectors before use.
- Clip the top carabiner to the overhead anchorage or anchorage connector and verify the gate closes and locks.
- Connect the snap hook to the harness dorsal D-ring and verify the gate closes and locks.
- Check retraction: the lifeline should pay out and retract smoothly with constant tension and no hesitation.
- Verify the anchor is at or above the dorsal D-ring and confirm fall clearance per the manual's clearance tables before working.
Full use instructions ship with the unit; the user instruction manual is linked in the documentation section below.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect the unit before each use, and have a competent person inspect it on a documented schedule per ANSI/ASSP Z359.14 and the manual. Log results in the inspection and maintenance log at the back of the manual or through 3M Connected Safety ID.
- Housing: cracks, distortion, loose fasteners, or a seized swivel eye.
- Lifeline: pay the web out fully and check for cuts, frays, burns, abrasion, and chemical damage.
- Energy absorber and impact indicator: any deployment means immediate removal from service.
- Connectors: gates close and lock at both ends; no cracks, corrosion, or distortion.
- Retraction: the lifeline retracts smoothly under light tension with no hesitation.
Retirement triggers: any fall arrest event, deployed impact indicator, failed retraction or brake check, or any failed inspection.
