FallTech 11' DuraTech Arc Flash Web SRL
The 82911 11 ft DuraTech Arc Flash Web SRL is an 11' personal self-retracting device built for electrical utility and arc flash environments. The Kevlar web lifeline resists arc flash hazards, and the assembly includes a Nomex label and stitching cover.
It is certified to ANSI Z359.14-2014 (Class B) and complies with ASTM F887-13, for one worker from 130 to 310 lb. Choose the connector configuration for your anchor, based on the hook and carabiner materials your program requires. This is a non-leading-edge device; use an edge-rated SRL for sharp edges.

Who Needs This Product
This product is an arc flash rated personal self-retracting device (SRL), the connecting component of a personal fall arrest system for electrical work. A worker ties the SRD off overhead and the retractable Kevlar web lifeline pays out and retracts, locking to arrest a fall. You still need a certified full-body harness (arc flash rated for energized work) and a rated anchorage.
Features
Kevlar web lifeline
The 11' Kevlar lifeline protects against arc flash hazards and provides a 4,500 lb minimum strength.
ANSI Z359.14-2014 and ASTM F887-13
Certified Class B self-retracting device that also complies with the arc flash equipment standard.
Internal inertial braking
The braking system provides smooth deceleration with minimal fall arrest forces.
Impact-resistant housing
Overmolded glass-filled nylon housing contributes unmatched impact resistance.
Anti-twist swivel-eye
The integrated aluminum alloy swivel-eye helps to prevent lifeline twisting for smooth payout.
Choose your connectors
Steel or aluminum anchorage carabiner with snap hook, rebar hook, or captive-eye carabiner lifeline ends.
Arc flash SRD for overhead tie-off. This device is a Class B SRL for anchorage at or above the dorsal D-ring; it is not edge-rated. The maximum arrest distance is 54 inches, which is one part of your Minimum Required Fall Clearance (MRFC). Confirm required fall clearance and swing-fall with the Fall Protection Calculator below.
Compliance Standards
ANSI Z359.14-2014
Self-retracting device standard, Class B.
ASTM F887-13
Personal climbing equipment standard for arc flash performance.
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502
Federal construction fall protection requirements.
OSHA 1910.66

Typical Applications
How to Use
Follow the FallTech instruction manual and the arc flash supplement. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check the Kevlar lifeline, retraction, lock, housing, and connectors before each use.
- Anchor overhead. Connect the carabiner to a rated anchorage at or above the dorsal D-ring.
- Connect the lifeline. Attach the snap hook, rebar hook, or carabiner to the harness dorsal D-ring.
- Check the lock. Pull the lifeline sharply to confirm it locks, then let it retract smoothly.
- Confirm clearance. Verify required fall clearance and swing-fall with the calculator below.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the SRD from service for any of the conditions below.
- Lifeline: cuts, fraying, burns, chemical damage, or a damaged Nomex stitching cover.
- Retraction and lock: a lifeline that will not retract or lock on a sharp pull.
- Housing and hardware: cracks, deformation, or corrosion.
- Connectors and hooks: bent gates, corrosion, or gates that will not lock.
- Labels: illegible or missing markings.
Remove the SRD from service immediately after any fall-arrest event or arc flash exposure, and destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.
