Who Needs This Product

This product is a concrete embed anchor with a soft web loop, the anchorage component of a personal fall arrest system cast into concrete during the pour. Concrete and precast crews set it in the wet slab so the loop is available for tie-off once cured. It is a single-use, permanent anchor. You still need a certified full-body harness and a compatible connecting device, and it must not be used to lift or support loads.

Features

Set in the wet pour to become a permanent part of the slab or wall.

Soft web loop

Low-profile connection loop instead of a steel D-ring.

4 ft or 6 ft to match slab thickness or reinforcement depth.

Polyester web strap

ANSI Z359.1-2007 and A10.32

How to Install

Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Plan the location. Mark where the anchor is needed and confirm slab thickness and edge distance per the manual.
  2. Position before the pour. Secure the embed strap so the loop end sits at the finished surface.
  3. Cast in concrete. Pour and consolidate the concrete around the fully embedded strap.
  4. Cure fully. Let the concrete reach its required strength before using the anchor.
  5. Inspect and connect. Inspect the loop and surface, connect your SRL or lanyard, and confirm fall clearance below.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Web loop at the surface: cuts, fraying, or damage where it exits the concrete.
  • Stitching: broken or worn stitches at the loop.
  • Concrete around the anchor: cracking or spalling.
  • Labels: illegible or missing markings.

Remove the anchor from service immediately after any fall-arrest event, and destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the loop version different from the D-ring version?
The loop version finishes with a soft web connection loop instead of a steel D-ring, giving a lower-profile connection point at the surface.
Is it reusable?
No. It is a single-use, permanent anchor cast into the concrete. For a reusable drilled-hole anchor, see the FallTech Removable Concrete Anchor.
What lengths are available?
Embedded lengths of 4 ft and 6 ft, chosen to match slab thickness or reinforcement depth.
What do I connect to the loop?
Connect a compatible carabiner or connector from your SRL or lanyard to the web loop, used with a certified full-body harness.
What standard does it meet?
It meets ANSI Z359.1-2007 and ANSI A10.32-2004 and satisfies the 5,000 lb anchorage requirement for one worker up to 310 lb.
Can I use it to lift or hang loads?
No. It is for personal fall arrest only and must never be used to lift, hang, or support loads.
Why is it sold in multi-packs?
Embed anchors are inexpensive per unit and set on pour day in quantity, so they ship in contractor multi-packs.

Setting Anchors on Pour Day?

Embed anchors have to be placed before the concrete goes down. Confirm your slab details and quantities with us and we will help you get the right lengths and packs to the site on time.
