FallTech Rotating Swivel D-Ring Concrete Anchor

The FallTech Rotating Swivel D-Ring Concrete Anchor mounts to concrete (and, with the bushing version, to steel) and provides a forged alloy steel D-ring that swivels a full 360 degrees. The swivel lets the connection follow the worker so the lifeline does not twist or bind.

It is built from a zinc-coated steel bracket with an integrated forged alloy steel D-ring on a zinc-coated flanged bushing. Choose the fastener that matches your substrate: bushing only (7451AC, also fits steel), concrete screw (7451A), or expansion bolt (7451C). Certified to ANSI Z359.18-2017, for one worker up to 310 lb (ANSI) or 425 lb (OSHA).

Who Needs This Product

This product is a rotating swivel D-ring concrete anchor, the anchorage component of a personal fall arrest system. Crews bolt it to a concrete deck or wall (or steel, with the bushing version) to give a swiveling tie-off point that tracks the worker. Choose the fastener for your substrate. You still need a certified full-body harness and a compatible connecting device.

Features

360-degree swivel

The forged D-ring rotates fully so the lifeline follows the worker without twisting.

Choose your fastener

Bushing only (also for steel), concrete screw, or expansion bolt to match the substrate.

Zinc-coated steel

Corrosion-resistant bracket and hardware for durable service.

Forged alloy D-ring

Strong connection point for an SRL or lanyard.

Low-profile mount

Bolts flat to a deck or wall for a compact anchor point.

ANSI Z359.18-2017

Certified anchorage connector.

Match the fastener and torque to the substrate. Use the correct fastener version for concrete or steel, install into a sound substrate per the manual, and set the fastener to the specified torque. Confirm fall clearance and swing-fall with the Fall Protection Calculator below.

Compliance Standards

ANSI Z359.18-2017

American National Standard for anchorage connectors.

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502

Federal construction fall protection anchorage requirements.

OSHA 29 CFR 1910

General industry personal fall protection requirements.

Swivel D-ring

360-degree rotation reduces lifeline twist and side loading.

Typical Applications

Concrete decksSwiveling tie-off bolted to the slab.
Walls and columnsAnchor point on vertical concrete.
Steel structuresBushing version bolts to steel.
Roofing over concreteLow-profile anchor for deck work.
MaintenanceReusable bolt-in anchor point.

How to Install

Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect. Check the bracket, swivel, D-ring, and fastener before each use.
  2. Pick the fastener. Select the bushing, concrete screw, or expansion bolt version for your substrate.
  3. Drill and clean. Drill the correct hole in sound concrete (or prepare the steel) per the manual and clear debris.
  4. Fasten to torque. Install the anchor and set the fastener to the specified torque so the bracket is tight and the D-ring swivels freely.
  5. Connect and check. Attach your SRL or lanyard, then confirm fall clearance below.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Bracket and welds: cracks, bending, or corrosion.
  • Swivel and bushing: a D-ring that binds or will not rotate.
  • D-ring: deformation, sharp edges, or corrosion.
  • Fastener and substrate: a fastener that will not hold torque, or cracked concrete.

Remove the anchor from service immediately after any fall-arrest event, and destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 360-degree swivel do?
The forged D-ring rotates fully so the connection follows the worker, reducing lifeline twist and side loading on the anchor.
Which fastener should I choose?
Choose the bushing version (7451AC) for user-supplied fasteners or steel, the concrete screw version (7451A, Hilti KWIK HUS-EZ 5/8 in x 5-1/2 in), or the expansion bolt version (7451C, Hilti HSL-3-B M12) to match your substrate. Per the manual, concrete must have a minimum compressive strength of 4,000 psi and meet the thickness and edge-distance requirements for the fastener used.
Can it mount to steel?
The bushing version (7451AC) is designed to install in concrete or a steel beam; the screw and bolt versions are for concrete.
What is the worker capacity?
One worker, 130 to 310 lb for ANSI compliance and up to 425 lb for OSHA compliance.
Is it reusable?
Yes, it is a bolt-in anchor that can remain in place or be removed per the manual, unlike a permanent cast-in embed anchor.
What do I connect to it?
Connect a compatible SRL or energy-absorbing lanyard to the swivel D-ring, used with a certified full-body harness.
Can it be reused after a fall?
No. Remove the anchor from service immediately after any fall-arrest event and destroy it so it cannot be reused.
