ROSU01SS Stainless Steel Permanent Use Roof Anchor – 5-Pack

This 5-pack includes five Frontline ROSU01SS permanent-use roof anchors. Each one disappears into the roof: fasten the 9 in stainless steel strap at the peak or on the flat of the roof, shingle over the base, and the zinc plated D-ring stays presented for tie-off - this season, and every season after.

The electro polished stainless steel construction is built for a life outdoors, carrying a 5,000 lb breaking strength at a net weight of just 0.35 lbs. The D-ring offers a 1.9 in opening for easy connections. Per the Frontline spec sheet it meets ANSI Z359.18 and aligns with OSHA 1910 and 1926, and hardware is included. Also available as a 20-pack.

Who Needs This Product

This product is a permanent single-point anchorage connector for personal fall arrest or restraint systems on residential and light commercial roofs. Roofers install it during the roofing job and leave it for future maintenance access; solar and service crews tie off to anchors that were planned years before. Each worker still needs a full body harness and a compatible connecting device attached to the D-ring.

How to Install the ROSU01SS

Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Plan the layout. Locate anchors over structural framing per the Frontline manual and the work zones they will serve.
  2. Inspect the anchor. Check the strap, D-ring, and welds before installation.
  3. Position at the peak or flat. Set the base so the D-ring presents toward the work area.
  4. Fasten. Install the included hardware into sound structure per the manual pattern.
  5. Shingle over. Cover the base with roofing material, leaving the D-ring exposed.
  6. Connect and verify. Pull-test the D-ring and confirm fall clearance before each use.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the equipment from service for any of the conditions below.

  • D-ring: deformation, cracks, corrosion, or wear at the strap interface.
  • Strap and welds: bending, cracking, or corrosion staining.
  • Fasteners: withdrawal, shear, or structure damage at the mounting points.
  • Roofing interface: water intrusion or rot around the anchor base.
  • Markings: labels must be present and legible where visible.

Retire and replace the anchor immediately after any fall arrest event or if any inspection point fails. A permanent anchor that cannot be verified must be treated as unusable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a single anchor or a 5-pack?
This listing is a 5-pack: five identical Frontline ROSU01SS stainless steel permanent-use roof anchors. The pack suits crews permanently anchoring multiple points or stocking spares.
Can it really stay on the roof permanently?
Yes. The electro polished stainless steel base is designed for permanent exposure, and the base plate can be shingled over so only the D-ring stays visible.
What is the rated strength?
A 5,000 lb breaking strength per the Frontline spec sheet, serving one worker per anchor.
Where does it install?
At the peak or on the flat of the roof, fastened into structural framing with the included hardware per the Frontline manual.
What is the difference between the ROSU01SS and ROSU02SS?
The ROSU02SS is the double D-ring version on an 18 in base; the ROSU01SS carries a single D-ring on a 9 in base. Same stainless construction and 5,000 lb strength class.
Can I buy it in bulk?
Yes. The ROSU01SS is also sold as a 20-pack for production roofing crews - see the Compatible and Related Products section.
Does shingling over the base affect inspection?
The exposed D-ring and surrounding roofing must be inspected before each use; if the anchor cannot be verified as sound, treat it as unusable and replace it.
What is the difference between fall arrest and fall restraint?
Fall arrest catches a worker after a fall happens; fall restraint prevents the worker from reaching the fall hazard in the first place. The right anchor placement supports either system when configured per the manual. For a deeper walkthrough with system examples, read our guide: Fall Arrest vs. Fall Restraint. Use the Fall Protection Calculator below to size the right system for your job.
