ROSU02SS Stainless Steel Roof Anchor, Double D-Ring, 20-Pack

The Frontline ROSU02SS doubles the connection points of a permanent roof anchor: an 18 in electro polished stainless steel base plate carries a zinc plated D-ring at each end, so the anchor straddles the peak and serves both slopes - or covers two work zones on a flat run.

Like its single-ring sibling, the base shingles over for a clean, permanent installation. It carries a 5,000 lb breaking strength at 0.7 lbs net weight, with 1.9 in D-ring openings, and Intertek tested it to ANSI/ASSP Z359.18-2017 as a Type A anchorage connector on wood substrate. Hardware is included. Also available as a 20-pack. This listing is the 20-pack: twenty individually packaged anchors in one order, ready to outfit a full crew or a full development.

Who Needs This Product

This product is a permanent double-point anchorage connector for personal fall arrest or restraint systems on residential and light commercial roofs. Installed straddling the ridge, one anchor presents a D-ring to each roof slope - roofers, solar crews, and maintenance teams tie off to whichever side they work. One worker per D-ring per the manual, each with a full body harness and a compatible connecting device.

Features

Two D-rings, one anchor

A connection point at each end of the 18 in base serves both roof slopes.

Fits the peak or the flat of the roof; the base shingles over cleanly.

Stainless for life

Electro polished stainless steel base built for permanent exposure.

5,000 lb strength

Full anchorage-grade breaking strength at 0.7 lbs net weight.

Independently tested

Intertek Z359.18-2017 Type A test report included in Submittals.

Permanent means planned. Locate each anchor over structure per the Frontline manual, fasten with the specified hardware into sound framing, and document the installation. Each D-ring serves one worker per the manual - never two on one ring.

Compliance Standards

ANSI Z359.18-2017 Type A

American National Standard for anchorage connectors. Intertek tested the ROSU02SS on wood substrate: design, static, abrasion-conditioned dynamic, and residual strength all PASS - see the test report in Submittals.

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502

Federal construction fall protection criteria, including anchorage strength requirements.

OSHA 29 CFR 1910.140

General industry personal fall protection system requirements.

Typical Applications

Ridge installationsOne anchor, a D-ring serving each slope.
New roofsInstall during roofing and leave permanent tie-off behind.
Solar maintenancePre-planned anchorage for array service visits.
Steep-slope serviceWork either side of the peak from the same anchor.
InspectionsFast, safe access for assessors and adjusters.
Production developmentsStandardize one anchor across every unit.

How to Install the ROSU02SS

Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Plan the layout. Locate anchors over structural framing per the Frontline manual and the work zones each D-ring will serve.
  2. Inspect the anchor. Check the base plate, both D-rings, and welds before installation.
  3. Straddle the peak. Set the 18 in base across the ridge (or along the flat) so each D-ring presents to its slope.
  4. Fasten. Install the included hardware into sound structure per the manual pattern.
  5. Shingle over. Cover the base with roofing material, leaving both D-rings exposed.
  6. Connect and verify. Pull-test each D-ring and confirm fall clearance before each use.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the equipment from service for any of the conditions below.

  • D-rings: deformation, cracks, corrosion, or wear at the base interface.
  • Base plate and welds: bending, cracking, or corrosion staining.
  • Fasteners: withdrawal, shear, or structure damage at the mounting points.
  • Roofing interface: water intrusion or rot around the anchor base.
  • Markings: labels must be present and legible where visible.

Retire and replace the anchor immediately after any fall arrest event or if any inspection point fails. A permanent anchor that cannot be verified must be treated as unusable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why two D-rings?
Installed across the ridge, the 18 in base presents a D-ring to each roof slope - one anchor serves both sides of the peak instead of installing two separate anchors.
Can both D-rings be used at once?
Each D-ring serves one worker per the Frontline manual. Do not connect two workers to the same ring.
What is the rated strength?
A 5,000 lb breaking strength per the spec sheet, and Intertek tested the anchor to ANSI/ASSP Z359.18-2017 Type A on wood substrate with all requested clauses passing.
What is the difference between the ROSU01SS and ROSU02SS?
The ROSU01SS carries a single D-ring on a 9 in base; the ROSU02SS doubles up with a D-ring at each end of an 18 in base. Same stainless construction and strength class.
What does the 20-pack include?
Twenty individually packaged anchors shipped in one order. Hardware ships with each anchor exactly as the single-unit listing describes.
Does it really hide under shingles?
Yes - the base plate shingles over during roofing so only the D-rings stay visible, ready for the next service visit.
What is the difference between fall arrest and fall restraint?
Fall arrest catches a worker after a fall happens; fall restraint prevents the worker from reaching the fall hazard in the first place. The right anchor placement supports either system when configured per the manual. For a deeper walkthrough with system examples, read our guide: Fall Arrest vs. Fall Restraint. Use the Fall Protection Calculator below to size the right system for your job.
