Frontline RK050V50 Combat Plus Roofer Kit
The Frontline RK050V50 Combat Plus Roofer Kit is a complete, ready-to-work fall protection system that gives a roofer everything needed to tie off safely the moment the bag is opened: a 50VTB padded full body harness, the RO01 reusable roof anchor with nails included, and a 50 ft vertical lifeline with an integrated rope grab and shock pack. Everything packs into a duffel bag that straps across the shoulders, so both hands stay free for climbing ladders and moving across the roof. The harness and lifeline use contrasting safety-orange material for high visibility, and the universal-sizing harness fits most users. It is the go-to solution for roofers, framers, solar installers, and any crew working at height on residential and light commercial roofs.
50VTB padded harness, RO01 anchor, and 50 ft vertical lifeline in one bag · 130 to 310 lb capacity · ANSI and OSHA compliant.

Why Crews Choose This Kit
Everything in One Bag
One part number provides a roofer with a complete, compliant fall-arrest system: padded harness, anchor, lifeline, rope grab, and shock pack. There is nothing else to source or match up, so a new crew member can be protected and working in minutes instead of piecing a system together.
Padded for Long Days
The Combat Plus kit upgrades to the 50VTB padded harness, adding shoulder and leg padding that makes a real difference across a full shift. The harness and lifeline still use contrasting safety-orange material with black stitching, so the gear is easy to spot and fast to inspect.
Hands-Free Carry
The included duffel straps across the shoulders so the whole kit travels on your back, leaving both hands free to safely climb ladders and access different work areas. It is built to be the go-to solution straight out of the bag.
Built for Real Roofs
The RO01 anchor is hinged to sit on most roof peaks and flat surfaces up to a 12/12 pitch, comes with its nails, and uses a forged D-ring on powder-coated steel. Paired with a knot-end polysteel lifeline and a double-locking rope grab, the kit is made for daily roofing work.

How to Set Up and Use the Kit
The summary below is an overview. Always read and follow the full Frontline Roofer Kit user manual, calculate your fall clearance, and have a Competent or Qualified Person verify the setup before anyone works at height.
- Inspect every component before use: harness webbing and stitching, rope grab and shock pack, lifeline rope, and RO01 anchor. Remove any defective component from service immediately.
- Install the RO01 anchor centered over the roof framing on top of secured sheathing, no less than 6 ft from any exposed roof edge, using at least 22 of the included nails through the center and outer holes. The structure must support 5,000 lbs per worker.
- Attach the lifeline snap hook to the anchor D-ring, then run the rope through the rope grab with the arrow pointing toward the anchor and the stopper knot at the end of the line.
- Don the harness: dorsal (back) D-ring centered between the shoulder blades, chest strap at mid-chest, and leg straps snug. Look for the A marking at the anchor points.
- Connect the rope grab lanyard snap hook to the harness back D-ring, confirm the rope grab locks when pulled sharply, work directly below the anchor to avoid swing falls, and keep a rescue plan ready.
Important Use Notes
The RO01 anchor must be installed over secured roof sheathing, never directly to a rafter or truss, and never on rotten or degraded wood. Keep the maximum free fall to 6 ft and work no more than 30 degrees to either side of the anchor to limit swing fall. After any fall-arrest event, remove the harness, lanyard, rope grab, and lifeline from service and destroy them; the RO01 anchor must also be removed from service.

Independent Lab Certification
SATRA Technology Centre, United Kingdom
The RO01 roof anchor in this kit, the load-bearing tie-off point of the system, was independently tested by SATRA Technology Centre. The anchorage connector was installed to a simulated substrate and tested to ANSI Z359.18-2017, and it passed. The 50VTB harness and the vertical lifeline carry their own independent ANSI certifications, so every link in the chain is built and tested to a recognized fall protection standard.
Component standards: Harness to ANSI Z359.11-2014, anchor to ANSI Z359.18-2017, lifeline and rope grab to ANSI Z359.15-2014. All components meet applicable OSHA requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
What comes in the Frontline RK050V50 Combat Plus Roofer Kit?
The RK050V50 is a complete Personal Fall Arrest System in one bag. It includes the Combat Plus 50VTB padded full-body harness (universal sizing, tongue-buckle leg straps, added shoulder and leg padding), the RO01 reusable roof anchor with nails included, a 50 ft vertical lifeline with an integrated rope grab and shock pack, and a polyester duffel carry bag. The harness and lifeline are safety orange for high visibility, and everything is sized to work together right out of the box.
How is the Combat Plus kit different from the standard Combat kit?
The Combat Plus RK050V50 steps up to the 50VTB padded harness for added comfort during long days, while the standard Frontline RK5PTB Combat Roofer Kit uses the 100VTB harness. Both kits share the same RO01 reusable roof anchor with nails, the same rope grab with shock pack, and the same duffel bag. The RK050V50 ships with a 50 ft vertical lifeline, while the RK5PTB is offered in 25 ft and 50 ft lifeline lengths.
Is the RK050V50 kit OSHA- and ANSI-compliant?
Yes. The kit components comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and 1910, along with the applicable ANSI standards: the harness meets ANSI Z359.11-2014, the RO01 anchor meets ANSI Z359.18-2017, and the vertical lifeline and rope grab meet ANSI Z359.15-2014. The RO01 anchorage connector was independently tested by SATRA Technology Centre to ANSI Z359.18-2017 on a simulated substrate and passed.
What kind of roof can the RO01 anchor be used on?
The RO01 is a hinged, reusable roof anchor that works on most roof peaks and flat surfaces up to a maximum pitch of 12/12. It installs over the secured roof sheathing, centered on the roof framing, using at least 22 of the included twisted nails (3.6-inch length, 0.15-inch diameter). It must be placed no less than 6 ft from an exposed roof edge, and never attached directly to a rafter or truss or to rotten or degraded wood. After removal, the roof penetration may need repair by the installer.
What is the weight capacity of the kit?
The kit is rated for one worker with a total combined weight of 130 to 310 lbs, including tools, clothing, and equipment. All three components share this range, so the system stays matched. If the combined weight of a worker and tools exceeds 310 lbs, the employer must modify the system to provide proper protection, as the standard kit is not rated for that load.
How much fall clearance does the kit need?
Using the rope grab and lifeline system, the total fall clearance is approximately 18 ft, measured from the anchor down to the nearest obstruction below. That figure combines the connector length, the rope grab deceleration distance, the energy absorber deceleration distance, the worker's height, and a safety factor for harness stretch. Always calculate clearance for your specific job and anchor height before working, and work directly below the anchor to limit swing fall.
Can the kit be reused after a fall?
No. After any fall arrest event, the harness, lanyard, rope grab, and lifeline must be removed from service and destroyed immediately, and the RO01 anchor must also be taken out of service. The kit is durable and reusable for repeated installation and inspection during normal work, but once it has arrested an actual fall, it must be replaced. Inspect every component before each use and have a Competent Person formally inspect it at least every 6 months.
