Who Needs This Product

This product is a complete personal fall protection roofer kit. It bundles a full body harness, a reusable roof anchor, a vertical lifeline with integrated rope grab and shockpack, and a carrying bag. The kit is the complete system needed to land OSHA-compliant fall arrest on residential and light commercial roofing. No additional anchor or rope grab is required for typical roof work.

Features

All-in-one bag: harness, anchor, lifeline, rope grab

One SKU lands compliance for residential and light commercial roofing straight out of the bag.

110VTB Combat harness with aluminum hardware

Lightweight aluminum hardware harness in safety orange; universal sizing fits most users.

50 ft of 5/8 in twisted polysteel vertical lifeline

Twisted polysteel construction for abrasion resistance on the roof line.

Integrated rope grab with shock absorber

Rope grab travels with the worker; the shock absorber limits arrest force on a fall.

RO01 reusable roof anchor

High-strength alloy steel reusable roof anchor for residential and light commercial roofs.

Shoulder-carry duffel bag

Bag straps across the shoulders so both hands stay free for ladder climbs.

Donning Overview

Single-operator donning per the Frontline user manual. Always refer to the manual for the full procedure.

  1. Inspect. Run the harness through a pre-use inspection: webbing, hardware, stitching, labels, fall indicators.
  2. Orient. Hold the harness up by the dorsal D-ring. Shake the leg straps free so they hang clean.
  3. Shoulders. Slip both arms through the shoulder straps with the dorsal D-ring centered between the shoulder blades.
  4. Chest. Connect the chest buckle. Adjust so the strap sits 6 to 8 inches below the collarbone.
  5. Legs. Pass each leg strap under the thigh and connect at the leg buckle. Tighten until two fingers fit between strap and thigh.
  6. Tighten. Adjust shoulders, chest, and legs evenly. The dorsal D-ring should rest between the shoulder blades, not riding up the neck or down the lower back.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect every component before each use. A competent person inspects formally on a documented interval, typically every 6 months under ANSI Z359.2. Pull the equipment out of service for any of the conditions below.

  • Webbing: cuts, burns, abrasion, chemical attack, broken threads, loose stitching.
  • Hardware: cracks, deformation, sharp edges, corrosion, improper function of buckles and D-rings.
  • Stitching: cut, broken, or loose stitches; pulled threads at any load point.
  • Labels: legible and intact. Date of first use recorded.
  • Fall indicators: any deployed or stretched indicator pulls the equipment out of service immediately.
  • Connectors and hooks: gates close fully under spring tension; latches lock; no rollout exposure.

Retirement triggers: any deployed fall indicator, any equipment involved in a fall event, any chemical exposure outside the manufacturer-published list, or any condition where the inspector cannot positively verify the equipment is fit for service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the rated user capacity?
The RK110V50 is rated for a 310 lb working capacity per ANSI Z359.11-2014. The capacity includes the worker plus clothing, tools, and the harness combined.
Which standards does this product meet?
The RK110V50 meets ANSI Z359.11-2014 and aligns with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I (general industry) and 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M (construction). Anchor and connector strength requirements track 5,000 lb breaking strength.
What is included in the kit?
The RK110V50 kit includes: 110VTB Combat Harness, RO01 Reusable Roof Anchor, VLP50 50 ft Vertical Lifeline + RGSS58ES Rope Grab, MPBAG50 Duffel Bag. The components ship separately and are not permanently attached, so the harness can run with a different lanyard or SRL when the application changes.
Has this product been independently lab tested?
Yes. The RK110V50 has been tested by an accredited third-party lab to ANSI Z359.11-2014 requirements. The test report PDF is linked in the Submittals section above.
Is this kit a complete fall arrest system out of the box?
Yes. The RK110V50 covers all three parts of the ABC system - anchorage (RO01 roof anchor), body support (110VTB aluminum-hardware harness), and connection (50 ft vertical lifeline with the RGSS58ES self-tracking rope grab). Install the anchor per the manual on structurally sound framing and verify the fall clearance below your work area before use.
How often should the kit be inspected, and when should it be retired?
Inspect every component of the RK110V50 - harness, anchor, lifeline, and rope grab - before each use, and have a competent person perform a documented inspection at least every six months under ANSI Z359.2. Retire any component immediately after a fall event, a deployed shock absorber or fall indicator, chemical or heat damage, or any condition where it cannot be verified as safe for service.
What is the difference between fall arrest and fall restraint?
Fall arrest catches a worker after a fall happens; fall restraint prevents the worker from reaching the fall hazard in the first place. Fall arrest needs clearance below the work surface for deceleration; restraint does not. For a deeper walkthrough with system examples, read our guide: Fall Arrest vs. Fall Restraint. Use the Fall Protection Calculator below to size the right system for your job.
