Cross-Arm Cable with Snap Hook

When the anchor point sees sparks, edges, or abrasion that would eat a web strap, the 8186V wraps the member in galvanized steel cable instead: 6 ft of vinyl-coated cable with a steel locking snap hook, choking down on beams and pipe for a stable, long-lasting anchor.

The steel construction outlasts webbing in hot work and rough-steel environments while meeting the same anchorage connector standards.

Who Needs This Product

The cable choker is the anchor strap for places webbing goes to die: welding zones, sharp-edged steel, and semi-permanent anchor points that live outside. Wrap, choke, clip, and the anchor shrugs off what would retire a web strap in a week.

Features

Steel Cable Construction

Galvanized cable takes sparks, edges, and abrasion that destroy webbing.

Choke-Down Wrap

Wraps beams, pipe, and fixed structure and cinches under load.

Steel Locking Snap Hook

Double-action hook gives the system a positive connection point.

Vinyl Coating

Protects both the cable and the structure finish.

Semi-Permanent Ready

Durable enough to stay rigged at recurring anchor points.

System Compatible

Accepts any compliant lanyard or SRL connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I use cable instead of a web strap?
Wherever the anchor sees welding spatter, sharp steel, chemicals, or long outdoor exposure. Cable shrugs off what retires webbing.
How does it install?
Wrap the member, pass the hook around the cable to choke, and connect the system to the hook or the choked loop per the instructions.
What structure can it wrap?
Any member meeting the OSHA 5,000 lb anchorage requirement: beams, pipe, and fixed structure.
Is it reusable?
Yes, and durable enough to leave rigged at recurring anchor points, inspected before each use.
What lengths exist?
The vendor makes 3, 4, 6, and 10 ft; the 6 ft ships from stock.
Does the coating matter?
The vinyl coat protects the structure finish and slows cable wear; damage through to broken wires retires the anchor.
How often does it need inspection?
Before each use: broken wires, kinks, corrosion, hook function. Competent person inspection at least annually.
