DuraHoist Wall Mount Sleeve, Zinc-Plated Steel

The DH-8ZP puts a davit position on a wall: a zinc-plated steel sleeve that bolts to vertical concrete or steel, accepting the DuraHoist davit mast with a slip-in installation. The compact profile keeps the deck clear when the davit is elsewhere.

Rated to 450 lb with 5,000 lb tensile strength, the sleeve includes a PVC liner that protects the mast and smooths every insertion.

Who Needs This Product

Permanent sleeve bases are how one davit serves many positions: install sleeves at each recurring entry or edge point, and the crew carries only the mast. The wall mount version claims vertical concrete and steel where a floor base has no deck to bolt to.

Features

Vertical Surface Mounting

Bolts to walls of concrete or steel where floor mounting is impossible.

Slip-In Mast Socket

The DuraHoist mast drops in and lifts out; the sleeve stays.

Zinc-Plated Strength

Mild steel plated against corrosion, rated 450 lb working and 5,000 lb tensile.

PVC Liner

Protects the mast finish and keeps insertions smooth for years.

Compact Profile

Minimal intrusion into walkways and confined work areas.

One-Mast Economics

Each sleeve is another position for the same davit system.

Compliance Standards

OSHA 1926.502 Anchorage

Anchorages for fall arrest must support 5,000 lb per worker attached, or maintain a safety factor of two under a qualified person.

ANSI Z359 Practice

Anchorage connectors follow ANSI Z359 component practice with 5,000 lb rated hardware.

ANSI Z359.2

Kept in service through pre-use checks and documented competent person inspections at least annually.

  4. Connect the lanyard or SRL and verify gates lock.
  5. Verify fall clearance and swing fall exposure before working.

Full installation instructions ship with the product.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use and have a competent person inspect at least annually per ANSI Z359.2.

  • Webbing or body: cuts, frays, corrosion, cracks, distortion, or damage.
  • D-rings and hooks: no cracks, corrosion, distortion; gates lock where fitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

What mounts in the sleeve?
The Miller DuraHoist davit mast: slip it in for the entry, lift it out when done, and the sleeve waits for the next visit.
Where does the sleeve install?
On vertical concrete or steel structure per the instructions, engineered by a qualified person for the loads.
What is the PVC liner for?
It protects the mast finish and the sleeve bore, keeping the slip-fit smooth and rattle-free over years of insertions.
Why wall mount instead of floor?
Some entries have no usable deck: pits against walls, elevated hatches, and vessel sides. The wall sleeve claims those positions.
What is the rating?
450 lb working load with 5,000 lb tensile strength, supporting DuraHoist personnel configurations per the system manual.
How many sleeves per davit?
As many as the program needs; crews typically install sleeves at every recurring position and share one mast.
How often does it need inspection?
Before each use: fasteners, corrosion, liner, deformation. Competent person inspection annually.
