V-SERIES 10191757 Standard Shock Absorbing Lanyard, 6 ft Single Leg, Adjustable, Small and Large Snaphooks
The V-SERIES standard shock absorbing lanyard line simplifies product selection: a concise range of lightweight safety lanyards that limit force on the body in a fall, and on the anchor location. This 10191757 configuration is a 6 ft single leg adjustable web lanyard with a small steel snaphook for the harness dorsal D-ring and a 36CL large steel snaphook for the anchorage end.
Certified to ANSI Z359.13-2013 and rated to 400 lb, the lanyard uses a shock absorbing pouch with a clear, durable protective label cover that increases service life and allows easy inspection. RFID equipped for digital inspection tracking.

Who Needs This Product
The 10191757 is the workhorse configuration of the V-SERIES line: crews that tie off to overhead or shoulder-height anchor points and want one lanyard that fits multiple jobs. The adjustable web lets a worker shorten the working length to reduce free fall and swing hazard, and the 36CL large snaphook opens wide enough for rebar, angle iron, and anchor D-rings that a small hook cannot capture. The 400 lb capacity covers heavier workers with tools. If your crew works with the leading edge exposure of a roof or deck, step to a V-SERIES Leading Edge lanyard instead; if you need 100 percent tie-off while moving, choose a twin leg V-SERIES model.
Features
Adjustable Working Length
The adjustable 6 ft web lets workers take up slack to shorten potential free fall distance and reduce swing fall hazard at the task position.
400 lb Weight Capacity
Rated for workers up to 400 lb including clothing and tools, covering crew members that standard 310 lb lanyards exclude.
Shock Absorbing Pouch
The energy absorber deploys in a fall to limit arrest force on the body and the anchor. A clear, durable protective cover over the labels increases service life and allows inspection without opening the pouch.
Small and Large Steel Snaphooks
A small steel snaphook connects to the harness dorsal D-ring; the 36CL large steel snaphook captures rebar, angle, and large anchor hardware at the anchorage end.
RFID Equipped
A built-in RFID tag supports digital inspection records and fleet inventory management across your fall protection program.
Lightweight Polyester Web
Durable 1 in polyester webbing keeps the lanyard light on the harness all day while standing up to jobsite abrasion.

Not rated for leading edge work. This lanyard is designed for tie-off at or above the dorsal D-ring with the anchorage overhead where possible. It is not rated for sharp or leading edge exposure; use a V-SERIES Leading Edge cable or high heat web lanyard for those applications. Remove the lanyard from service immediately if the shock absorber deploys or after any fall arrest.
Compliance Standards
ANSI Z359.13-2013
Certified to the ANSI standard for energy absorbing lanyards. MSA's Declaration of Conformity (IAC-23-068) documents third-party testing at an ISO 17025-accredited facility under ANSI/ISEA 125-2014 Level 2.
OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140
Meets OSHA personal fall arrest system requirements for construction and general industry when used with a compliant full-body harness and anchorage.
400 lb Capacity Rating
The V-SERIES standard lanyard carries a 400 lb capacity rating, above the 310 lb rating common to legacy shock absorbing lanyards, so heavier workers with tools stay within the rated range.
Anchorage Strength
OSHA requires non-certified fall arrest anchorages to sustain 5,000 lbf per attached worker, or two times maximum arresting force when designed by a qualified person.
Typical Applications
Setup Overview
- Inspect the webbing, stitching, shock absorber pouch, impact indicator, and both snaphooks before each use.
- Connect the small steel snaphook to the harness dorsal D-ring and verify the gate closes and locks.
- Connect the 36CL large snaphook to a compliant anchorage at or above the dorsal D-ring and verify the gate closes and locks.
- Adjust the working length to remove slack and limit free fall to 6 ft or less.
- Verify fall clearance below the working surface before starting work, accounting for lanyard length, absorber deployment, harness stretch, and worker height.
Full use instructions are in the MSA lanyard instruction manual linked in the documentation section below.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, and have a competent person inspect the lanyard on a documented schedule per ANSI Z359.13 and the manual. The RFID tag supports digital inspection logging.
- Webbing: cuts, frays, burns, abrasion, UV fading, and chemical damage along the full length.
- Stitching: pulled or broken threads at terminations and the absorber pouch.
- Shock absorber: any sign of deployment or elongation means immediate removal from service.
- Snaphooks: gates close and lock at both ends; no cracks, corrosion, or distortion.
- Labels: legible and present under the clear protective cover.
Retirement triggers: any fall arrest event, deployed shock absorber, failed inspection, or illegible labels that cannot be verified.
