Super Anchor APEX RidgeTop Roof Anchor, Box of 10 with Stainless Steel Fasteners

The Super Anchor APEX RidgeTop is a low cost permanent roof anchor built for production builders and roofing crews. It installs directly over the roof decking and nails down flush, so the next course of roofing installs over the top and leaves only the tie-off tab exposed. Crews roof under and over the anchor without cutting or notching shingles.

Each box contains 10 anchors with stainless steel fasteners. The APEX is powder coated brown to blend with most roofing colors and can be painted to match. It is the RidgeTop style, with two connector holes at the ridge so a worker can tie off toward either roof slope. Space the anchors about 10 feet on center along the ridge for full coverage.

Who Needs This Product

The APEX RidgeTop is a permanent residential roof anchor for production builders, roofers, and trades that need a compliant tie-off point installed during the roofing stage. Because it courses under the roofing material, it suits shingle roofs where a low profile finished look matters. Pair it with a compatible full-body harness, energy-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline, and a competent-person anchor layout.

Features

Roof under and over design

The roofer courses roofing under the tab and over the anchor, so there is no cutting or notching of the shingle.

Low profile finished look

Only the tie-off tab stays exposed, which keeps the ridge line clean on the finished roof.

Powder coated brown

The brown finish blends with most roofing colors and can be painted to match the roof.

Stainless steel fasteners

Each box of 10 ships with corrosion resistant stainless steel fasteners.

Dual connector holes

The RidgeTop design has two connector holes at the ridge for tie-off toward either roof slope.

Simple layout

Space anchors about 10 feet on center along the ridge, or send a roof plan for a specified layout.

This anchor is a fall arrest anchorage, not a complete system. You still need a full-body harness, a connecting device such as an energy-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline, and adequate fall clearance below the work surface. Confirm anchor placement with a competent person and run the Fall Protection Calculator below before you tie off.

Compliance Standards

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502

Federal construction fall protection anchorage requirements.

Competent-person layout

Anchor locations and service zones specified by qualified or competent personnel.

Typical Applications

Roof maintenanceLong term access point for service trades.

How to Install the APEX RidgeTop

Follow the Super Anchor Safety instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Plan the layout. Space anchors about 10 feet on center along the ridge, starting 6 to 10 feet in from each gable end, or follow a specified roof plan.
  2. Position the anchor. Set the anchor over the decking at the ridge or hip location.
  3. Fasten. Nail or screw the anchor down securely with the supplied stainless steel fasteners.
  4. Course over. Install the next course of roofing over the anchor, leaving the tie-off tab exposed.
  5. Verify. Confirm the tab is accessible, then connect your harness and lanyard and confirm fall clearance.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the product from service for any condition below.

  • Anchor body: cracks, deformation, corrosion, or elongated holes.
  • Coating: worn or damaged galvanizing, dacromet, or powder coat at the connection point.
  • Fasteners and flashing: loose, missing, backed-out, or leaking hardware.
  • D-ring or connection point: burrs, sharp edges, or excessive wear.
  • Labels: illegible or missing product identification.

Retire the anchor immediately after any fall-arrest event, or if any inspection point fails.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many anchors come in a box?
Each APEX RidgeTop order is a full box of 10 anchors, and every box includes the stainless steel fasteners required to install them. Buying by the box lowers the per-anchor cost for production builders and roofing crews who set several anchors across one roof. Because the fasteners are stainless, the hardware matches the anchor's corrosion resistance for long term outdoor exposure on the ridge.
How does the RidgeTop anchor connect?
The RidgeTop is designed to sit at the ridge and has two connector holes, so a worker can tie off toward either slope of the roof without moving the anchor. It installs with the same low profile roof under and over design, nailing flush over the decking so only the tie-off tab stays exposed. Inspect the anchor and confirm your connectors and fall clearance before each use.
Is the APEX a permanent or temporary anchor?
The APEX is a permanent roof anchor. It installs directly over the roof decking and nails down flush, then the next course of roofing installs over the top so only the tie-off tab remains exposed. Because it stays with the structure, it gives builders, owners, and maintenance crews a reusable, code compliant tie-off point for the life of the roof instead of a one time temporary anchor.
How do I space the anchors?
Space the anchors about 10 feet on center along the ridge, and start 6 to 10 feet in from each gable end so the ends of the roof are covered. Correct spacing keeps the worker within the swing fall and fall clearance limits of the connecting device as they move between anchors. For a specific building, you can send Super Anchor a roof plan and receive a specified anchor layout drawn for that roof.
What is the maximum user weight?
The APEX is rated for one worker up to 310 pounds, including tools and equipment, per the APEX instruction manual. That limit covers the worker plus their harness, connecting device, and anything they carry onto the roof. Confirm the combined weight of the worker and all gear stays within 310 pounds before tying off.
Can I paint the anchor?
Yes. The APEX is powder coated brown so it blends with most common roofing colors out of the box, and it can be painted to match a specific shingle or panel color. The low profile design and finished look keep the exposed tie-off tab discreet on a finished roof, which matters on the visible ridge of a residential home.
Do I need a harness with this anchor?
Yes. The APEX is an anchorage point only and is one part of a complete personal fall-arrest system. You also need a full-body harness and a connecting device such as an energy-absorbing lanyard or a self-retracting lifeline, plus enough fall clearance below the work. Always inspect the anchor, connectors, and harness, and confirm clearance before each use, following OSHA 1926.502.

Specifying Roof Anchors for a Production Job?

Anchor spacing, roof pitch, and the connecting device all affect fall clearance. Confirm your layout and system with us and we will help you build the right anchor and PPE list so it ships together.
