Frequently Asked Questions

What is in the kit?
An RS-10 roof anchor, a butyl sealing strip, and a Retro-Flash flashing plate, one of each. Confirm the surface, slope, and conditions at your work area match the intended application before installation. If you have any doubt about the correct setup, consult a qualified person or the manufacturer instructions before putting the system into service.
What is Retro-Flash for?
Flashing the anchor watertight on a roof that is already installed. A correct installation is critical, so confirm the setup matches the manufacturer instructions before any worker ties off. Store it in a clean, dry place away from heat and chemicals to help preserve its condition between uses.
Can it be installed on an existing roof?
Yes, it is a retro-fit, watertight installation. Verify that the mounting surface is sound and that every fastener is fully seated before the anchor is put into service. For complete protection, pair it with a compatible full body harness, connector, and shock absorbing lanyard or self retracting lifeline.
How does it seal?
With the butyl strip and Retro-Flash flashing. Confirm each component in the system is compatible and rated for the intended use before connecting to it. Store it in a clean, dry place away from heat and chemicals to help preserve its condition between uses. Keep the manufacturer instructions with the equipment so anyone using it can reference the approved procedures.
How many workers can use it?
One person, as a single-user anchorage point. Inspect it before every use, and retire it right away if you find corrosion, cracks, or bent components. Only trained workers should select, install, and use fall protection equipment for its intended application. Always inspect the product before each use and take it out of service if you notice any damage, deformation, or excessive wear.
What standard does it meet?
OSHA 1926.502 anchorage requirements. Following the manufacturer guidance on this page is part of keeping your equipment audit ready. Always inspect the product before each use and take it out of service if you notice any damage, deformation, or excessive wear. Before every use, confirm the product is compatible with the rest of your fall protection system and that you have adequate fall clearance below the work area.
Do I need a harness?
Yes. You also need a harness and a connecting device. Make sure the connecting hardware and anchorage suit your application before you attach a lanyard or lifeline. A qualified person should verify that the installation and the overall system meet the requirements of your specific job site.
