Applications
How to Use
Suspension trauma relief extends the time a fallen worker can safely wait for rescue.
- Attach to the harness. Mount the relief system on the harness at the hip or lower webbing per the manual.
- Fall occurs. After arrest, the suspended worker deploys the pouch.
- Deploy the steps. Release the relief straps and extend the loops to full length.
- Stand and pump. Step into the loops and straighten the legs periodically to restore circulation.
- Await rescue. Continue weight shifts until the rescue plan retrieves the worker.
Inspection and Service Life
Inspect before each use and on the same formal schedule as the harness it supports. Log formal inspections so the service history follows the equipment.
- Webbing and fabric: look for cuts, fraying, burns, chemical damage, and UV fading
- Stitching: check for pulled, broken, or abraded threads at every seam
- Hardware: confirm no cracks, corrosion, or distortion, and that buckles and closures engage positively
- Attachment points: verify hook-and-loop, snaps, and routings hold securely
- Markings: verify identification and size markings remain legible
Remove the item from service if any inspection point fails, and destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.
