Frequently Asked Questions

Is the belly belt a fall arrest device?
No. The 150AC-BB is a work-positioning and support accessory. It is worn with a compatible Frontline full body harness and is not a substitute for a fall arrest system. Connect fall arrest at the harness dorsal D-ring.
What is the belly belt used for?
It adds stability, comfort, and positioning control during derrick and monkey-board work, with integrated frontal D-rings for positioning and equipment handling. The removable design lets it pair with compatible Derrick harnesses such as the 150DHVT and 150DHTW.
What is the rated capacity and strength?
The belt is rated for a 310 lb capacity with 5,000 lb webbing and D-ring breaking strength.
Which standards does it meet?
The 150AC-BB aligns with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I (general industry) and 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M (construction) for positioning equipment. As an accessory it is not certified to ANSI Z359.11, which applies to full body harnesses.
Which harnesses is it compatible with?
It is designed to pair with compatible Frontline Derrick full body harnesses, including the 150DHVT Derrick Vest and the 150DHTW Derrick 6D Bosun harness.
What do I need to pair with this belt for a complete work positioning setup?
The 150AC-BB is a positioning and support accessory only. Wear it attached to a compatible Frontline Derrick full body harness and connect a positioning lanyard to the integrated frontal D-rings. OSHA requires that any work positioning setup be backed up by a separate personal fall arrest system - the harness dorsal D-ring with an energy-absorbing lanyard or SRL and an anchorage rated to at least 5,000 lb.
How often should this belt be inspected, and when should it be retired?
Inspect the 150AC-BB before every use, and have a competent person perform a documented inspection at least every six months under ANSI Z359.2. Retire it immediately after any cut, abraded, or burned webbing, chemical or heat damage, deformed or corroded hardware, or any condition where it cannot be verified as safe for service.
