RPW11 Web Single Leg up to 11 ft SRL with Steel Snap Hook End

The Frontline RPW11 is a up to 11 ft web single leg self-retracting lifeline that gives you hands-free fall protection with a short retracting webbing lifeline. The lifeline pays out as you move and locks in inches if a fall starts, all inside a robust, durable plastic casing.

A swivel anchorage eye and a quarter-turn locking steel carabiner (CSQ184) make the anchor connection; a swivel steel snap hook terminates the worker end. The 1 in polyester webbing carries a 5,000 lb connector strength with a 310 lb capacity, a 42 in maximum arrest distance (Class 1), and a 1,350 lb average arrest force. Built to ANSI Z359.14, aligning with OSHA 1926 and 1910.

Who Needs This Product

This product is a self-retracting lifeline (SRL) - a fall arrest connecting device that pays out and retracts automatically, locking in inches if a fall starts. Steel erectors, deck crews, and maintenance workers clip in for hands-free protection with minimal fall distance. You still need a full body harness and a rated anchor to complete the system.

Features

Hands-free protection

The lifeline retracts as you move - no slack to manage, minimal fall distance.

Quarter-turn locking carabiner

The CSQ184 steel carabiner locks with a turn at the anchor - no accidental rollout.

Swivel snap hook

The snap hook swivels to prevent webbing twist as you work.

Durable plastic casing

Robust housing protects the mechanism on the jobsite.

Class 1, 42 in arrest

Quick lockup keeps arrest distance and clearance demand low.

Anchorage eye

A swivel eye lets the SRL track your movement at the anchor.

Mind the anchor height and the edge. Standard SRLs are rated for overhead anchorage; foot-level or leading-edge use requires an LE-rated device. Confirm anchor placement, swing-fall, and clearance below the work surface before each use - run the Fall Protection Calculator below, and rig per the Frontline manual.

How to Use the RPW11

Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect. Check webbing, braking (sharp-pull lock test), housing, and both connectors before each use.
  2. Anchor overhead. Connect the quarter-turn carabiner to a rated overhead anchor.
  3. Connect to the harness. Attach the swivel hook to the dorsal D-ring.
  4. Confirm the lock. Verify the carabiner is fully locked and the hook gate is closed.
  5. Verify clearance. Confirm fall clearance and swing-fall below - run the calculator below.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the equipment from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Lifeline webbing/cable: cuts, fraying, abrasion, burns, or chemical damage.
  • Braking: lifeline must lock sharply on a quick pull test.
  • Housing: cracks, loose fasteners, or damaged lifeline exit.
  • Energy absorber: deployment or torn cover.
  • Hooks and swivels: deformation, corrosion, gates that fail to lock.

Retire the equipment immediately after any fall arrest event or if any inspection point fails. Destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lifeline on the RPW11?
A up to 11 ft polyester webbing lifeline that retracts into a robust plastic casing and locks in a fall.
What connects at each end?
A quarter-turn locking steel carabiner (CSQ184) plus a swivel anchorage eye at the anchor end, and a swivel steel snap hook at the worker end.
What is the rated capacity?
One worker up to 310 lbs including clothing and tools; 5,000 lb connector strength.
Is it leading-edge rated?
No - this is a standard overhead-anchorage SRL. For foot-level or sharp-edge tie-off use a leading-edge rated device like the RPG08x LE cable SRLs.
What is the arrest distance?
42 in maximum (Class 1), with a 1,350 lb average arrest force per the spec sheet.
Has it been independently tested?
Yes - the RPW11 test report is linked in Submittals.
What is the difference between fall arrest and fall restraint?
Fall arrest catches a worker after a fall happens; fall restraint prevents the worker from reaching the fall hazard in the first place. For a deeper walkthrough with system examples, read our guide: Fall Arrest vs. Fall Restraint. Use the Fall Protection Calculator below to size the right system for your job.
