The Frontline RPW20R is a 20 ft web single leg self-retracting lifeline that gives you hands-free fall protection with a short retracting webbing lifeline. The lifeline pays out as you move and locks in inches if a fall starts, all inside a robust, durable plastic casing.
A swivel anchorage eye and a quarter-turn locking steel carabiner (CSQ184) make the anchor connection; a swivel steel rebar hook terminates the worker end. The 1 in polyester webbing carries a 5,000 lb connector strength with a 310 lb capacity, a 42 in maximum arrest distance (Class 1), and a 1,350 lb average arrest force. Typical Applications
How to Use the RPW20R
Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check webbing, braking (sharp-pull lock test), housing, and both connectors before each use.
- Anchor overhead. Connect the quarter-turn carabiner to a rated overhead anchor.
- Connect to the harness. Attach the swivel hook to the dorsal D-ring.
- Confirm the lock. Verify the carabiner is fully locked and the hook gate is closed.
- Verify clearance. Confirm fall clearance and swing-fall; run the calculator below.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the equipment from service for any of the conditions below.
- Lifeline webbing/cable: cuts, fraying, abrasion, burns, or chemical damage.
- Braking: lifeline must lock sharply on a quick pull test.
- Housing: cracks, loose fasteners, or damaged lifeline exit.
- Energy absorber: deployment or torn cover.
- Hooks and swivels: deformation, corrosion, gates that fail to lock.
Retire the equipment immediately after any fall arrest event or if any inspection point fails. Destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.
