Ridge-It Tile Roof Anchor, 18 in Single D-Ring, 2-Pack

The Guardian 00515 Ridg-Tile brings the proven Ridge-It permanent anchor design to tile roofs: an 18 in stainless and zinc-plated steel anchor with a single D-ring, installed at the ridge with the supplied nails and sealed by an integrated butyl strip. It gives tile roofing crews a permanent tie-off point that stays with the roof after the job is done.

This 2-pack covers the typical work zones of a residential tile roof. Each anchor meets OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140 and ships with 12 stainless steel spiral nails. Like all Ridge-It anchors, the Ridg-Tile is a permanent installation and is not reusable once removed.

Who Needs This Product

The Ridg-Tile is built for tile roofing contractors who need permanent tie-off on clay, concrete, and slate tile roofs where a standard shingle anchor does not fit the profile. Each anchor serves one worker as the anchorage connector of a personal fall arrest system, and the low-profile strap installs beneath the ridge tiles with only the D-ring exposed. For asphalt shingle roofs, use the standard Ridge-It 00500 or 00510; for crews that remove anchors after every job, the reusable Temper anchor is the better fit.

Features

Purpose-built for tile roofs

Designed for the height and profile of ridge tiles, providing reliable permanent fall protection on clay, concrete, and slate roofs.

Permanent tie-off point

Installs once at the ridge and stays with the roof, ready for future maintenance, solar work, and inspections.

Single D-ring

One corrosion-resistant D-ring provides a secure tie-off point that remains accessible after the ridge tiles are set.

Watertight butyl strip

The integrated butyl strip helps prevent water intrusion at the fastener penetrations for leak-free permanent installs.

Stainless and zinc-plated steel

Corrosion-resistant construction rated for decades of exposure at the ridge line.

Fasteners included

Ships with 12 stainless steel spiral nails per anchor, so installation starts the moment the pack is opened.

Installation Overview

Installation must follow the Guardian Ridge-It instruction manual (85126) tile details. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Position at the ridge. Place the anchor at the ridge with the label facing up and the butyl strip against the structure, following the tile detail in the manual.
  2. Verify the structure. Fasteners must be fully embedded into structural wood; the supporting structure must meet the strength requirements in the manual.
  3. Fasten completely. Drive all 12 provided stainless steel spiral nails; every fastener hole must be filled.
  4. Seal check. Confirm the butyl strip seats against the structure to seal the penetrations.
  5. Set the ridge tiles. Install the ridge tiles over the anchor strap, leaving only the D-ring exposed for tie-off.
  6. Connect the system. Attach a compatible vertical lifeline or SRL to the D-ring and verify fall clearance before work begins.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect the anchor before every use, and have a competent person perform a documented inspection at least every six months under ANSI Z359.2 practice. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Cracks, corrosion, or deformation of the plate, strap, or D-ring.
  • Loose, missing, or backed-out fasteners.
  • Failed butyl seal or evidence of water intrusion at the penetrations.
  • Cracked or displaced ridge tiles around the anchor.
  • Any evidence the anchor has arrested a fall.

Retirement triggers: any fall event on the anchor, or any condition where the inspector cannot positively verify the anchor is fit for service. The Ridg-Tile is not reusable; once removed, it must be replaced.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Ridg-Tile different from the standard Ridge-It?
The 00515 Ridg-Tile uses the same permanent stainless and zinc-plated steel construction but is shaped for the height and profile of ridge tiles, so the D-ring stays accessible after clay, concrete, or slate ridge tiles are set. Standard Ridge-It models 00500 and 00510 are built for asphalt shingle roofs.
How many anchors come in this pack?
This is a 2-pack of the Guardian 00515 Ridg-Tile anchor. Each anchor is an independent permanent tie-off point for one worker, which typically covers the main work zones of one residential tile roof.
Can the Ridg-Tile anchor be reused?
No. Like all Ridge-It anchors, the Ridg-Tile is a permanent installation and is not designed to be removed and reinstalled. For a reusable anchor, use the Guardian Temper on compatible substrates.
What fasteners does the Ridg-Tile use?
Each anchor ships with 12 stainless steel spiral nails. All 12 fastener holes must be filled and the nails fully embedded into the structure per the instruction manual.
Will the anchor cause leaks under the ridge tiles?
No. The integrated butyl strip seals the fastener penetrations, and the anchor strap sits beneath the ridge tiles, preserving the watertight assembly of the roof.
Which standards does the Ridg-Tile meet?
The Ridg-Tile meets OSHA 1926.502 for construction and OSHA 1910.140 for general industry. Guardian anchors are tested in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory, and the test report is linked in the documentation section on this page.
What else do I need for a complete fall arrest system?
Each worker needs a full body harness and a connecting device, either a vertical lifeline assembly with a rope grab or a self-retracting lifeline, attached to the D-ring. Use the fall protection calculator above to confirm the fall clearance below your work area.
