Ridge-It Permanent Roof Anchor, 18 in Double D-Ring, 3-Pack
The Guardian 00510 Ridge-It is a discreet, permanent roof anchor for residential construction: an 18 in anchor with double D-rings spanning the ridge in stainless and zinc-plated steel, installed over the ridge with integrated butyl strips that seal the nail holes watertight. On new construction the strap shingles over, leaving only the D-ring exposed as a permanent tie-off point for future roof work.
This 3-pack covers a typical roof plan with anchors at each work zone. Each anchor meets OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140, ships with 3 in 16d stainless steel spiral nails, and accepts roof pitches from 0/12 to sheer. The Ridge-It is a permanent anchor and is not reusable once removed.

Who Needs This Product
The Ridge-It is built for roofing and solar contractors who leave permanent tie-off points on every house they build or re-roof. Unlike a temporary anchor, it installs once, seals watertight with butyl strips, and stays under the shingles for the life of the roof, so the next crew on that roof clips in instead of nailing on a new anchor. Each anchor serves one worker as the anchorage connector of a personal fall arrest system. If your crew removes anchors at the end of each job, the reusable Guardian Temper anchor is the better fit.
Features
Permanent tie-off point
Installs during construction or re-roofing and stays on the ridge for the life of the roof, ready for maintenance, inspections, and future work.
Double D-ring design
D-rings on both sides of the ridge give workers a secure tie-off point on either roof face from a single anchor.
Watertight butyl seal
Integrated butyl strips seal the nail penetrations to prevent leaks, so the anchor can be shingled over without compromising the roof.
Stainless and zinc-plated steel
Corrosion-resistant construction rated for decades of exposure at the ridge line.
Fasteners included
Ships with the required 3 in 16d stainless steel spiral nails (8 nails per anchor), so installation starts the moment the pack is opened.
Three-anchor contractor pack
Covers a typical residential roof plan with anchors at each work zone, at a lower per-anchor cost than single units.

Typical Applications
Installation Overview
Installation must follow the Guardian Ridge-It instruction manual (85126). The sequence below is an overview only.
- Position at the ridge. Center the anchor over the roof ridge with the label facing up and the butyl strips against the roof surface.
- Verify the structure. Fasteners must be fully embedded into the substrate; the supporting structure must meet the strength requirements in the manual.
- Fasten completely. Drive all provided 3 in 16d stainless steel spiral nails; every fastener hole must be filled.
- Seal check. Confirm the integrated butyl strips seat against the roof to seal the nail penetrations watertight.
- Shingle over (permanent installs). On new construction, the anchor strap can be shingled over, leaving only the D-ring exposed for future tie-off.
- Connect the system. Attach a compatible vertical lifeline or SRL to the D-ring and verify fall clearance before work begins.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect the anchor before every use, and have a competent person perform a documented inspection at least every six months under ANSI Z359.2 practice. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.
- Cracks, corrosion, or deformation of the plate, strap, or D-ring.
- Loose, missing, or backed-out fasteners.
- Failed butyl seal or evidence of water intrusion at the nail holes.
- Illegible or missing label.
- Any evidence the anchor has arrested a fall.
Retirement triggers: any fall event on the anchor, or any condition where the inspector cannot positively verify the anchor is fit for service. The Ridge-It is not reusable; once removed, it must be replaced.
