2815-T Tile-Retro Anchor for Tile Roofs, 2-Pack
The Super Anchor 2815-T Tile-Retro is the long-leg retrofit anchor for tile and slate roofs: a 40 inch, 2 inch wide, 14 gauge 430 stainless steel leg with a stamped dacromet or yellow zinc plated D-ring and a 5,000 lb minimum tensile strength. The leg conforms to the tile profile and fastens through to the top chord, permanent or temporary, on wood framed structures. This listing is a 2-pack.
Fall arrest or fall restraint anchorage for one worker at up to 340 lb including tools, with a 6 ft maximum free fall and 1,800 lb maximum arrest force with the required energy absorber. Compliant with OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.66, ANSI Z359.1-07 and A10.32-2012 per the 2025 Tile-Retro manual.

Who Needs This Product
The Tile-Retro is for crews working on high profile tile, S-tile, and slate roofs when penetrating clean tile courses is not an option: solar installers, roof maintenance, and re-roofing contractors. The 40 inch leg runs from the top chord fastening zone up over the ridge line area so the D-ring stays accessible above the tile courses. Each worker wears a full body harness with a personal energy absorber sized for the user weight, on a lifeline or SRL. Not for window washing, work positioning, or horizontal lifeline systems.

Typical Applications
Installation Overview
Full figures and fastener tables are in the 2025 Tile-Retro manual linked below. The basics:
- Confirm the framing: minimum 2x4 top chord with sound 7/16 inch OSB or plywood sheathing, capable of 5,000 lb or 2 times the intended load.
- Position the leg with its center fastener holes over the top chord center, D-ring at the ridge area above the tile courses.
- Low profile roofing: drive all 16 fasteners (8 per leg zone). High profile tile: use the top 6 fastener holes with 10 total fasteners per Table 2.
- Conform the leg to the tile profile as tiles install over it, removing tile underside material where needed for proper fit.
- Caulk the overlap to prevent wind driven particles and water penetration, and set the D-ring exposure before the final courses.
- Check the framing underside for fastener blow-outs and verify the installation before first use.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before installation and each use, with documented annual inspections. Remove the anchor from service when any of the following apply:
- The D-ring or shackle is deformed.
- Fasteners are missing per the Table 1 or Table 2 schedule.
- Fastener blow-outs appear on the framing underside; remove and relocate the anchor.
- The anchor was subjected to a free fall.
- The PID label is missing or illegible.
Tag anchors removed from service to prevent further use until inspected by a qualified or competent person.
