Swivel Anchor, 10,000 lbs, Concrete and Threaded Models

The Guardian 10K swivel anchor puts a 10,000 lbs rotating tie-off point on concrete and threaded connections: the 10010 sets in concrete with a 5/8 x 6 in embedment, and the 10011 threads onto 5/8-11 connections at 4 in length. The swivel head follows the worker, keeping the load aligned instead of side-loading the connector.

Each anchor serves one worker under OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140, installed per the substrate and torque requirements in the manual.

Who Needs This Product

Swivel anchors solve the alignment problem on fixed anchorage: as the worker moves around the anchor, the head rotates so the D-ring always faces the load. At 10,000 lbs rated strength, the Guardian swivel doubles the standard anchorage number, which engineered systems and two-stage rescue plans appreciate. Choose the model by connection: cast-in or drilled concrete for the 10010, threaded steel bosses for the 10011.

Installation Overview

Installation must follow the Guardian instruction manual for this anchor. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect first. Check the anchor body, connection point, and hardware before every installation.
  2. Verify the structure. The supporting structure must meet the strength requirements in the instruction manual.
  3. Install per the manual. Follow the substrate, fastener, and orientation requirements exactly; fill every required fastener position.
  4. Verify the connection. Confirm the anchor is fully seated and the connection point is accessible and undamaged.
  5. Connect the system. Attach a compatible connecting device and verify the complete personal fall arrest system with a competent person.
  6. Check clearance. Confirm fall clearance below the work area and minimize swing fall hazards before work begins.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before every use, and have a competent person perform a documented inspection at least every six months under ANSI Z359.2 practice. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Cracks, corrosion, or deformation of the body, connection point, or welds.
  • Loose, missing, damaged, or worn hardware and fasteners.
  • Elongation or wear at the D-ring or connection eye.
  • Missing or illegible labels.
  • Any evidence the anchor has arrested a fall.

Retirement triggers: any fall event on the anchor, or any condition where the inspector cannot positively verify it is fit for service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the strength rating?
Both models are rated at 10,000 lbs, double the standard 5,000 lbs anchorage requirement, installed per the embedment or thread engagement requirements in the manual.
Which model fits my application?
The 10010 anchors in concrete with a 5/8 x 6 in embedment; the 10011 threads onto 5/8-11 connections with 4 in of engagement. Substrate strength and torque values for both are in the instruction manual.
Why does the swivel matter?
A fixed D-ring side-loads the connector when the worker moves off-axis; the swivel head rotates to follow the worker, keeping the hook loaded along its spine the way the hardware is rated.
What options does the Guardian 10K Swivel Anchor come in?
Stocked options: 5/8 x 6 in, concrete (10010, $115.99); 5/8-11 x 4, threaded (10011, $104.36). Every option carries the same Guardian lifetime warranty and ships in 1 business day.
Which standards does this product meet?
It is compliant with ANSI Z359.18-2017, OSHA 1910.140, OSHA 1926.502 when used within a complete, competent-person verified fall protection system, and Guardian products are tested in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
When should this product be retired?
Retire it after any fall event, any failed inspection item, or whenever an inspector cannot positively verify it is fit for service. The inspection criteria in the linked documentation define the pass-fail conditions.
Is documentation available for submittal packages?
Yes. The manufacturer documentation linked on this page covers installation, specifications, and compliance, and every file is hosted on our site for direct download into your submittal package.
