C5200 4 to 6 ft Adjustable Restraint Lanyard with 2 Steel Snap Hooks
The Malta Dynamics C5200 is an adjustable travel-restraint and positioning lanyard that keeps a worker back from a fall hazard so a fall cannot occur. It adjusts from 4 to 6 feet to set the exact working distance, making it ideal for bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and edge work where the goal is to prevent reaching the hazard rather than arrest a fall.
The one-inch webbing combines polyester and nylon for a 9,800 pound tensile strength, with UV-resistant high-visibility orange color and a label protector that keeps the manufacturer markings legible per OSHA. Each end carries a low-profile self-locking alloy steel snap hook. The C5200 meets ANSI Z359.3 and is compliant with OSHA 1926 and OSHA 1910. This listing ships as a bulk pack.

Who Needs This Product
The C5200 is a travel-restraint and positioning lanyard used to keep a worker tethered back from a fall hazard, preventing a fall in the first place. It is ideal for bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and edge work where restraint is the chosen system. Each worker pairs it with a full-body harness or a restraint belt and a rated anchorage. Important: a restraint lanyard is not an energy-absorbing lanyard and must never be used for fall arrest where a free fall could occur.

This is a restraint lanyard, not a fall-arrest lanyard. Rig it so the worker cannot reach the fall hazard and never expose it to a free fall. In no case should potential free fall exceed two feet. If a fall could occur, use an energy-absorbing lanyard or a self-retracting lifeline instead, and retire this lanyard if it is ever loaded in a fall.

Typical Applications
Use Overview
Use per the Malta Dynamics lanyard user instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check the webbing, stitching, adjuster, both snap hooks, and the label protector before each use.
- Choose restraint. Confirm the task can be done by restraint, keeping the worker back from any fall hazard with no free fall possible.
- Verify the anchorage. Confirm the anchorage is rated and positioned so the worker cannot reach the hazard at the set length.
- Set the length. Use the adjuster to set the tether between 4 and 6 feet so the worker is held back from the edge or hazard.
- Connect. Clip one snap hook to the harness or restraint belt D-ring and the other to the anchorage, confirming each gate is closed and locked.
- Confirm restraint. Walk the working area to verify the worker cannot reach the fall hazard at any point.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every six months or per your program. Remove the lanyard from service if any of the conditions below apply.
- Webbing: cuts, frays, abrasion, burns, chemical damage, UV degradation, or broken fibers.
- Stitching: pulled, cut, or broken threads anywhere on the assembly.
- Adjuster: slippage, deformation, or failure to hold the set length.
- Snap hooks: cracks, deformation, corrosion, or a gate that does not close and lock.
- Label protector and labels: must remain present and legible.
Retirement triggers: any fall-arrest event, any defect listed above, or any sign the lanyard was loaded in a fall. A restraint lanyard is not rated for fall arrest and must be removed from service if subjected to an arresting load.
