24 Inch CRA Loop Top Anchor Post
The Super Anchor 1042-W is a 24 inch CRA commercial roof anchor post: a No. 1090 cast steel loop top rated at 10,000 lb tensile strength on a polyurethane foam filled, hot dip galvanized 3.0 inch O.D. Schedule 80 riser, on a 16 x 16 x 5/8 inch base plate. Third-party certified with a 5,000 lb minimum ultimate strength in any direction the load is applied to the loop top.
Use it as a single person PPE anchor, a window washing tie-off, or an anchor in CRA horizontal lifelines up to 240 ft. The heavy Schedule 80 riser and 5/8 inch plate suit bolted, embedded, and welded structural installations. Compliant with ANSI Z359.18-17 Type A/T, CSA Z259.15:22, ANSI/IWCA 1-14.1, and OSHA 1926.502 per the 01-2023 CRA manual.

Who Needs This Product
The 1042-W anchors one worker at up to 340 lb including tools and equipment for fall arrest, work positioning, and fall restraint with a maximum 6 ft free fall, and serves as an anchor in engineered horizontal lifelines and window washing systems. Commercial roofers, maintenance teams, and window washing contractors install it permanently on wood, metal, or concrete structures. Each worker still wears a full body harness with an energy absorber, lanyard, or SRL meeting current OSHA, ANSI, or CSA standards, and anchors are spaced 20 to 30 ft on center.

Bolted attachment required for HLL and window washing use. This 24 inch model must always be bolted, concrete embedded, or field welded; never screw attach it. The supporting structure must hold 5,000 lb or 2 times the intended load per OSHA 1910.140, and backer plates may be required when the substrate cannot carry the load alone. Field welds require a certified welder with E70XX electrode and inspection by a qualified person.
Compliance Standards

Typical Applications
Installation Overview
Full procedures, fastener tables, and substrate figures are in the CRA manual linked below. The essentials:
- Confirm the attachment point supports 5,000 lb or 2 times the intended load, at locations specified by the project architect, engineer, or safety consultant.
- Bolted, concrete embedded, or field welded only; screw attachment is not permitted for risers over 18 inches.
- Use certified grade 8, grade 5, or 18-8 stainless bolts or A307 rod with matching lock nuts; never hot dip galvanized bolts.
- Add a plywood backer or backer plate when the primary sheathing is OSB or under 3/4 inch plywood.
- For concrete, use 1/2 inch or larger wedge bolts with flat washers in cured 2,500 PSI minimum concrete.
- Bolted window washing anchors must be proof loaded to 2,500 lb before fall protection use; the completed installation must be inspected and certified by a qualified or competent person.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before installation and each use, with documented annual inspections. Remove the anchor from service when any of the following apply:
- The riser is bent or deformed.
- Weld cracks are present.
- Rust that does not clean up with cold zinc coating.
- Fasteners are missing; do not use until the installation is corrected.
- The PID label or vent hole plug is missing and cannot be replaced.
- The anchor was subjected to a free fall or the supporting structure is damaged.
Tag anchors removed from service to prevent further use until inspected by a qualified or competent person.
