1031-W CRA 5 Inch Loop Top Anchor Post
The Super Anchor 1031-W is a 5 inch CRA anchor post with a No. 1090 cast steel loop top rated at 10,000 lb tensile strength on a foam filled, hot dip galvanized Schedule 40 riser. The 6x6x3/8 inch 4-hole base plate bolts to structure with the included 4 stainless 1/2 x 1-3/4 inch bolts with lock nuts and washers, and the anchor is third-party certified with a 5,000 lb ultimate strength in any load direction.
Use it as a single person tie-off point, a window washing tie-back, or an end anchor in CRA horizontal lifeline systems up to 240 ft. The 4-hole base also bolts to the corner holes of the 1207 standing seam plate for loop top anchorage on metal roofs. Compliant with ANSI Z359.18-17 and OSHA 1926.502, with CSA Z259.15:22 conformity per the 01-2023 manual.

Who Needs This Product
The 1031-W is a commercial anchorage connector for one worker at up to 340 lb including tools and equipment, for fall arrest, work positioning, and fall restraint with a maximum 6 ft free fall. Roofing, maintenance, and window washing contractors use the loop top as a compatible connection point for snaphooks, carabiners, and Super Anchor HLL end anchor components. Each worker still wears a full body harness with an energy absorber, lanyard, or SRL that meets current OSHA, ANSI, or CSA standards. Single person and HLL anchors are spaced 20 to 30 ft on center per the manual.

Typical Applications
Installation Overview
Full procedures, fastener tables, and substrate figures are in the CRA manual linked below. The essentials:
- Confirm the attachment point supports 5,000 lb or 2 times the intended load, with locations specified by the project architect, engineer, or safety consultant.
- For bolted installations use a minimum of 4 certified 1/2 inch grade 8, grade 5, or 18-8 stainless bolts or A307 rod with matching lock nuts; the supplied stainless bolts fit the 4-hole base.
- Add a backer plate when the substrate cannot carry the load alone, such as concrete slabs under 4 inches.
- On the 1207 standing seam plate, bolt the 4-hole base to the plate corner holes with the supplied bolts.
- For concrete, use 1/2 inch or larger wedge bolts per Table 2.0 with flat washers in 2,500 PSI minimum cured concrete.
- Do not proof load screw attached anchors; bolted window washing anchors must be proof loaded to 2,500 lb before fall protection use.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before installation and each use, with documented annual inspections. Remove the anchor from service when any of the following apply:
- The riser is bent or deformed.
- Weld cracks are present.
- Rust that does not clean up with cold zinc coating.
- Fasteners are missing; do not use until the installation is corrected.
- The PID label or vent hole plug is missing and cannot be replaced.
- The anchor was subjected to a free fall or the supporting structure is damaged.
Tag anchors removed from service to prevent further use until inspected by a qualified or competent person.
