Frequently Asked Questions

What opening sizes does it fit?
The bar adjusts to fit door and window openings from 24 to 48 inches wide. The specifications listed on this page outline the build details you need for your application. Only trained workers should select, install, and use fall protection equipment for its intended application.
How many workers can use it?
One person. It provides a single user tie-off point. Inspect it before every use, and retire it right away if you find corrosion, cracks, or bent components. If you have any doubt about the correct setup, consult a qualified person or the manufacturer instructions before putting the system into service.
What do I connect to it?
A vertical lifeline or a self-retracting lifeline, attached to a full-body harness. A correct installation is critical, so confirm the setup matches the manufacturer instructions before any worker ties off. Before every use, confirm the product is compatible with the rest of your fall protection system and that you have adequate fall clearance below the work area.
Can I use it in a finished building?
Yes. It uses the door or window opening and leaves no permanent hardware, so it works in finished structures. Pair it only with connectors and equipment that are approved for use together so the complete system performs as designed. Store it in a clean, dry place away from heat and chemicals to help preserve its condition between uses.
What is it made of?
Lightweight aluminum, so one worker can carry and install it. Follow the recommended fastener pattern and placement so the connection is secure, and re-check the installation before you rely on it for fall arrest. Always inspect the product before each use and take it out of service if you notice any damage, deformation, or excessive wear.
How much free fall does the system allow?
Rig to limit free fall to 6 feet per ANSI Z359.1, and confirm your fall clearance. Confirm each component in the system is compatible and rated for the intended use before connecting to it. A qualified person should verify that the installation and the overall system meet the requirements of your specific job site.
Do I need a harness with this anchor?
Yes. The bar is an anchorage point only and must be paired with a full-body harness and a connecting device. Make sure the connecting hardware and anchorage suit your application before you attach a lanyard or lifeline. Always inspect the product before each use and take it out of service if you notice any damage, deformation, or excessive wear.
