Frontline Anchor Plates

Concrete and Steel D-Ring Reusable Anchor Plate

The Frontline COP01 is a bolt-on anchorage connector plate for concrete and steel structures. The 6 in x 6 in ASTM rated steel plate carries a welded D-ring and four pre-drilled mounting holes, and every concrete anchor bolt needed for installation comes in the bag, ready to use. Bolt it to a wall, ceiling, column, or steel member, tie off to the D-ring, and you have a 5,000 lbf rated anchor point exactly where the work is.

The plate installs in horizontal or vertical orientations and works as either a temporary anchor that moves with the crew or a permanent tie-off point that stays with the structure. Powder-coated safety green so it reads as fall protection at a glance. Rated for one user at 130-310 lbs. The spec sheet claims ANSI Z359.18 and A10.32 plus OSHA 1926 and 1910. Sold as a 2-pack — two concrete anchor plates for $149, shipped together in one order.

Who Needs This Product

This product is a bolt-on anchorage connector plate. It provides the anchor-side tie-off point of a personal fall arrest or fall restraint system on concrete or steel structures. Pair it with a full body harness and an energy-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline. It is not a complete fall protection system on its own, and a competent person must verify the supporting structure before use.

Features

Bolt-on D-ring anchorage

A welded D-ring on a 6 in x 6 in plate puts a rated tie-off point on walls, ceilings, columns, and steel members.

Hardware included

Four pre-drilled holes and all concrete anchor bolts come in the bag, ready to install straight away.

Concrete or steel

One plate covers both substrates, so the same anchor standard works across the whole structure.

Temporary or permanent

Use it as a relocatable crew anchor or leave it installed as a permanent tie-off point.

ASTM rated steel

Plate stock is ASTM rated steel, powder-coated safety green for visibility and corrosion protection.

Horizontal or vertical mounting

Installs and works in horizontal or vertical applications per the user manual.

The structure is the anchor. The plate is only as strong as what it is bolted to. A competent person must verify that the concrete or steel substrate, the fasteners, and the installation meet the requirements in the Frontline user manual before anyone ties off. Follow the manual's hole pattern, fastener, and torque requirements exactly.

Compliance Standards

ANSI Z359.18

American National Standards Institute standard for anchorage connectors used in active fall protection systems, as claimed on the Frontline spec sheet.

ANSI A10.32

Fall protection systems requirements for construction and demolition operations.

OSHA 1926

Federal OSHA construction industry fall protection regulations.

OSHA 1910

Federal OSHA general industry walking-working surfaces and fall protection regulations.

Typical Applications

Concrete walls and columnsRated tie-off points on tilt-up panels, cast walls, and columns during construction and maintenance.
Overhead concrete ceilingsCeiling-mounted anchorage for interior trades working from lifts and platforms.
Structural steelBolted anchorage on steel members where welding is not an option.
Recurring maintenance pointsPermanently installed plates at rooftop units, vessels, and pits that crews revisit on a schedule.

Installation Overview

Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Select. Have a competent person choose sound structural concrete or steel that meets the manual's substrate requirements.
  2. Position. Place the plate where the tie-off keeps the lifeline aligned with the work and mark the four hole locations.
  3. Drill. Drill the four holes to the diameter and depth the manual specifies for the included anchor bolts.
  4. Fasten. Clean the holes, install all four supplied concrete anchor bolts, and torque per the manual.
  5. Verify. Confirm the plate sits flush, all fasteners are tight, and the D-ring is sound before connecting a system.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the equipment from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Bent, cracked, or deformed plate or D-ring
  • Loose, missing, damaged, or corroded mounting bolts
  • Cracked or chipped powder coating with rust on the base steel
  • Cracked, spalled, or deteriorated concrete around the fasteners
  • Missing or illegible product labels and markings
  • Any evidence the plate has arrested a fall

Remove the plate from service immediately if it has been subjected to fall arrest forces or fails any inspection point, and destroy retired equipment so it cannot be returned to use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the COP01 be used for both fall arrest and fall restraint?
Yes. In fall restraint the system keeps the worker from reaching a fall hazard, so the plate sees far lower loads. In fall arrest the plate must stop a fall in progress, which is why it carries a 5,000 lbf tensile rating and must be paired with energy-absorbing connecting devices. Confirm your available fall clearance with the fall clearance calculator on this page before relying on a fall arrest configuration. For a deeper walkthrough with system examples, read our guide: Fall Arrest vs. Fall Restraint.
What is included in the bag?
The powder-coated D-ring anchor plate and all the concrete anchor bolts needed for the four pre-drilled holes. You supply the drill and the verified structure; everything else is ready to use out of the bag.
Can I install it on steel as well as concrete?
Yes. The COP01 is designed for concrete or steel structures. The included fasteners are concrete anchor bolts; for steel mounting, follow the fastener requirements in the Frontline user manual.
Is the plate reusable?
Yes. The plate can serve as a temporary anchor that is removed and relocated, or be left in place as a permanent tie-off point. Inspect it before each use and follow the manual's fastener requirements at every new installation.
How many workers can tie off to one plate?
One. The COP01 is rated for a single user with a combined weight between 130 and 310 lbs including tools, per the spec sheet.
When should I choose the COP02-10K instead?
Step up to the COP02-10K when the job specification calls for a 10,000 lb anchorage or a hot dip galvanized finish for long-term exterior exposure. For standard single-user tie-off on verified structure, the 5,000 lbf COP01 covers the common OSHA anchorage criterion.
What documentation is available for submittals?
Frontline publishes a spec sheet, a user instruction manual, and an independent test report for the COP01. All three are available as PDF downloads in the submittals section of this page.
