QAN75RA-US Patriot Confined Space Quadpod with 3-Way Retrieval, Made in USA

The Frontline QAN75RA-US is a Patriot confined space quadpod - a four-legged retrieval frame for openings where a tripod's three legs will not straddle the hole. Ideal where the use of a tripod is impractical, it sets up in seconds with no tools and can be erected by one person.

Made in the USA, it carries a 3-way retrieval SRL that arrests a fall and lets the attendant raise or lower the worker for non-entry rescue. The four-leg stance spans wider, rectangular, and off-center openings that defeat a tripod. Built to OSHA 1910.146 and ANSI Z359.

Who Needs This Product

This product is a confined space quadpod retrieval system for openings a tripod cannot span. Confined space teams use it for entry support and non-entry rescue. It requires a full body harness and a written, practiced rescue plan to form a complete program.

Features

Reaches openings a tripod cannot

The four legs straddle wide, rectangular, and off-center holes where a three-leg frame has nowhere to stand.

Rescue without entry

The retrieval block lifts or lowers a fallen worker so the attendant never has to climb in after them.

Steady lifting point

The wide stance keeps the overhead retrieval point stable through a full raise or lower.

Matched and ready

It ships with the 3-way retrieval SRL, so the frame and the rescue block arrive as one kit.

Fits tanks, vaults, and pits

Sized for the large and irregular permit-space openings that a tripod cannot cover.

Moves with the crew

It sets up and breaks down by hand, so one team can carry it between openings across a site.

Confined space demands a rescue plan. This equipment is part of an entry and non-entry rescue system, not a substitute for the written, practiced rescue plan OSHA 1910.146 requires. Verify every anchorage, base, and connection per the Frontline manual before any entry, and train your team first.

How to Use the QAN75RA-US

Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect. Check all load-bearing parts, moving parts, and the line before each use.

  3. Rig the system. Run the retrieval and/or fall arrest lines through the correct points.
  4. Connect the worker. Attach the harness per the rescue plan.
  5. Function-test. Test retrieval and confirm the plan with the attendant before entry.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the equipment from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Visual: deformation, cracks, corrosion, or damaged welds on load-bearing parts.
  • Moving parts: pulleys, swivels, winch drum, and locks operate freely and lock positively.
  • Line/cable: no broken wires, kinks, fraying, or corrosion; spools cleanly.
  • Connectors and fasteners: present, correct, and fully engaged per the manual.
  • Labels and markings: present and legible.

Retire the equipment immediately after any fall arrest event or if any inspection point fails. Destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Frontline QAN75RA-US quadpod?
The QAN75RA-US is a Patriot confined-space quadpod - a four-legged retrieval frame carrying a 3-way retrieval SRL, made in the USA. It is built for openings where a tripod's three legs cannot straddle the hole, and it sets up in seconds with no tools and can be erected by one person.
Quadpod or tripod - when do I need four legs?
Use the quadpod when the opening is wide, rectangular, or off-center so a three-leg tripod cannot straddle it. The four-leg stance spans larger and irregular openings that defeat a tripod, while still providing an overhead retrieval point.
What is the 3-way retrieval and how does it work?
The included 3-way SRL arrests a fall, then switches to retrieval so the attendant can raise or lower the worker without entering the space. That non-entry rescue capability is required for OSHA permit-required confined spaces.
How fast is setup?
It assembles in seconds with no tools and can be set up by one person, so an entry team can deploy it quickly at the opening. Always confirm a stable, level stance before anyone ties off.
What else do I need with it?
A full-body harness for the entrant and a trained attendant to operate the retrieval. The 3-way retrieval SRL is included on the quadpod, so the overhead frame and rescue block come matched.
Is the QAN75RA-US OSHA compliant?
Yes - it is built to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146 for permit-required confined spaces, plus ANSI Z359 and OSHA 1926. It is made in the USA as part of the Patriot line.
Where is it made?
The QAN75RA-US is made in the USA. It pairs with the Frontline Patriot confined-space line of davits, tripods, winches, and retrieval blocks.
