DAN75-US Patriot Davit Confined Space System, Made in USA

The Frontline DAN75-US is a Patriot davit confined space system, proudly made in the USA: a powder coated steel boom that rotates 360 degrees on a permanent base, carrying two integrated pulleys to run both a fall arrest SRL and a retrieval line over the opening.

The removable boom (17 in x 62 in, 41 lbs) mounts to a permanent base set into steel flooring or concrete, or onto the back of a truck - especially useful for tank entry and work over edges. Built to OSHA confined space requirements, the davit is the backbone of a non-entry rescue system.

Who Needs This Product

This product is a confined space davit system - the rotating retrieval point that lowers and recovers workers and material over an opening. Confined space teams, utilities, and tank crews build their entry and non-entry rescue around it. It requires a rated winch or 3-way SRL, a full body harness, and a written rescue plan to form a complete system.

Features

360-degree boom

Swing the load over the opening and away to the landing zone.

Two integrated pulleys

Run a fall arrest SRL and a retrieval winch line simultaneously.

Permanent base options

Mount to steel, concrete, or a truck bed for mobile rescue.

Made in the USA

Patriot-line build for Buy American specs.

Removable boom

Lift the boom out when the entry point is not in use.

Tank and edge ready

Reaches over tank rims and leading edges.

StandardsOSHA confined space (1910.146); ANSI Z359

Confined space demands a rescue plan. A davit is the retrieval point, not the whole system - pair it with a rated winch or 3-way SRL, a full body harness, and a written, practiced rescue plan per OSHA 1910.146. Verify the base anchorage and boom installation per the Frontline manual before any entry.

Compliance Standards

OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146

Permit-required confined spaces - entry, attendant, and rescue requirements.

ANSI Z359

Fall protection and rescue system standards for the davit and its components.

OSHA 29 CFR 1926

Construction confined space and fall protection requirements.

How to Set Up the DAN75-US

Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Install the base. Mount the permanent base to steel, concrete, or truck per the Frontline manual.
  2. Inspect. Check boom, pulleys, welds, and base before each use.
  3. Set the boom. Insert the boom and confirm it rotates and locks.
  4. Rig the systems. Run the fall arrest SRL and the retrieval winch line through the pulleys.
  5. Connect the worker. Attach the harness to the SRL and the retrieval line per the rescue plan.
  6. Test before entry. Function-test retrieval and confirm the rescue plan with the attendant.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the equipment from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Visual: deformation, cracks, corrosion, or damaged welds on all load-bearing parts.
  • Moving parts: pulleys, swivels, and locks operate freely and lock positively.
  • Connectors and fasteners: present, correct, and fully engaged per the manual.
  • Labels and markings: present and legible.
  • Function: components move, lock, and release as designed.

Retire the equipment immediately after any fall arrest event or if any inspection point fails. Destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Frontline DAN75-US davit system?
The DAN75-US is a Patriot confined-space davit: a powder-coated steel boom that rotates 360 degrees on a permanent base and carries two integrated pulleys so you can run a fall-arrest SRL and a separate retrieval line over the opening. The boom is 17 in x 62 in, weighs 41 lb, is removable, and is made in the USA. It is built to OSHA 1910.146 confined-space requirements and ANSI Z359.
What is included, and what else do I need?
The DAN75-US is the davit itself - the boom and base with two pulleys. You add the connecting devices that ride on it (a fall-arrest SRL and a retrieval winch or 3-way SRL) plus a full-body harness for the entrant. If you want those bundled, the DAN75RA-US adds a 50 ft 3-way retrieval SRL.
How does a davit support confined-space entry and rescue?
The boom positions two independent lines over the opening - one for fall arrest and one for raising or lowering - so an attendant can retrieve a worker without entering the space. That non-entry capability is the core of an OSHA permit-required confined-space rescue plan.
Where can the base be mounted?
The permanent base sets into steel flooring or concrete, or mounts to the back of a truck, which is especially useful for tank entry and over-edge work. Because the boom is removable, one boom can serve several pre-installed bases around a site.
Does the boom rotate, and how heavy is it?
Yes - the boom rotates a full 360 degrees on the base to position the load over the opening and swing a worker clear. It measures 17 in x 62 in and weighs 41 lb, and lifts off for transport between bases.
Is the DAN75-US OSHA compliant for confined spaces?
Yes - it is built to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146 for permit-required confined spaces and ANSI Z359, and serves as the backbone of a non-entry retrieval and rescue system. Operators must be trained and the system rigged per the Frontline manual.
DAN75-US or DAN75RA-US - which do I need?
Choose the DAN75-US when you already have your retrieval and fall-arrest devices and need only the davit. Choose the DAN75RA-US for a complete, ready-to-rescue package that bundles the davit with a 50 ft 3-way retrieval SRL.
