Frontline ROP16 Parapet Adjustable Non-Penetrating Anchor

The fast, reusable anchor for commercial flat and low-slope roofs with parapet walls. Clamps over the parapet without drilling, bolting, or breaking the roof membrane — sets up in under a minute, moves with the work, and comes off without leaving a single hole behind. Built for commercial roofers, HVAC techs, window washers, solar installers, and facility crews working on hotels, hospitals, schools, warehouses, and mid-rise commercial buildings.

5,000 lb minimum breaking strength · 310 lb user capacity · Fits parapet walls up to 15″ thick · Just 20.5 lbs.

Why Crews Choose the ROP16 Over Penetrating Anchors

Zero Roof Penetration

No drilling, no bolts, no flashing repair. The ROP16 clamps over the parapet wall, so your TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen, or built-up roof stays exactly the way the manufacturer warranted it — no leaks, no warranty calls, no patch work after the job.

Tool-Free Setup

Drop it over the parapet, slide the adjustable arm, drop the locking pin and safety pin, then turn the pressure handle clockwise until tight. One trained worker installs it in under a minute. No power, no wrenches, no consumables.

Reusable, Portable, Built to Last

ASTM A36 and A500 rated steel with a forged D-ring and electrostatic safety green paint. At 20.5 lbs, one worker carries it up the ladder, moves it as the work progresses, and stows it for the next job. Service rated -30°F to +130°F.

⚠ Verify Your Parapet Wall Before Ordering

The ROP16 requires a parapet wall at least 10″ tall and no more than 15″ thick. The wall must be a fully cured structural part of the building capable of withstanding a minimum breaking strength of 5,000 lbs, verified by a Qualified Person. The anchor must sit flush, straight, and tight against the outer parapet wall — not on an angle, incline, or diagonal. If your parapet falls outside this range or you're unsure, call us at 863-703-4522 before you buy.

Installation — 7 Steps, One Worker, Under a Minute

  1. Verify that the parapet wall is a fully cured structural part of the building, at least 10″ tall, no more than 15″ thick, and capable of withstanding a minimum breaking strength of 5,000 lbs (verified by a Qualified Person).
  2. Position the ROP16 straddling the parapet wall with the D-ring anchor plate facing outward toward the fall hazard. The unit must sit flush, straight, and tight against the outer parapet wall — never on an angle or incline.
  3. Pull the locking pin out of the adjustable arm and slide the adjustable arm as close as possible to the parapet's inner wall.
  4. Line up the closest slot on the adjustable arm with the fixed arm, then insert the locking pin through both arms.
  5. Insert the safety pin through the locking pin to secure it in place.
  6. Turn the adjustable pressure handle clockwise to clamp the anchor firmly against the inner parapet wall — as tight as possible. The anchor must not be loose or unstable.
  7. Visually and physically inspect the installation. Connect your compatible PFAS (full body harness + shock-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline) to the D-ring and begin work.

Direction Loading Limits

The D-ring anchor plate must face outward toward the fall hazard. Loading must be at 90° vertical and within ±15° of the centerline. Side loading is not permitted and will compromise the anchor's rated performance. After any fall arrest event, the ROP16 must be removed from service immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the ROP16 damage my roof or void the membrane warranty?

No. The ROP16 is a non-penetrating anchor — it clamps over the parapet wall without drilling, bolting, or fastening into the roof membrane or deck. Your TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen, or built-up roof stays untouched, so manufacturer warranties remain intact, and there is nothing to flash, patch, or seal after the job.

What size parapet wall does the ROP16 fit?

The ROP16 fits parapet walls a minimum of 10 inches tall (so the adjustable arm lies flat and unobstructed) and a maximum of 15 inches thick. The wall must be straight, structural, and fully cured. If your parapet is shorter than 10 inches or thicker than 15 inches, the ROP16 will not fit — call us at 863-703-4522, and we'll help you find the right anchor.

How long does it take to install the ROP16?

One trained worker can install the ROP16 in under a minute with no tools, no power, and no consumables. The four-step process — position over the parapet, slide the adjustable arm, drop the locking and safety pins, then turn the pressure handle tight — is fast enough that crews routinely move the anchor as the work progresses around the perimeter of the roof.

Is the ROP16 OSHA- and ANSI-compliant?

Yes. The ROP16 meets the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M (construction), OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (general industry), and ANSI/ASSP Z359.18-2017 (Type A anchorage connector). It has been independently tested and certified by Intertek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, under report number 105282134CRT-001 dated January 13, 2023.

Can I reuse the ROP16 after a fall has been arrested?

No. ANSI Z359.18 and the Frontline user manual both require that any anchor subjected to a fall arrest event be removed from service immediately. The ROP16 is a Type A (temporary) anchor designed for repeated installation and removal — but if it ever arrests an actual fall, take it out of service and replace it.

What direction can I work in once the anchor is installed?

The D-ring anchor plate must face outward toward the fall hazard. Loading must be at 90 degrees vertical and within 15 degrees of the centerline in either direction. Side loading is not permitted and will compromise the anchor's rated performance. Always work directly below or in line with the anchor — do not work at angles that would create a swing fall hazard.

What other equipment do I need to use the ROP16?

The ROP16 is one component of a complete Personal Fall Arrest System. You also need a full-body harness (ANSI Z359.11-compliant), a connecting subsystem (a shock-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline), and a documented rescue plan. The connecting hardware must be a locking snap hook or carabiner compatible with the ROP16's forged D-ring. We stock all three categories — see the cross-links below or call 863-703-4522 for a system recommendation.

How often does the ROP16 need to be inspected?

The user must inspect the ROP16 before every use, looking for damage, corrosion, missing parts, deformation, missing or loose bolts, legible labels, and proper function of the adjustable arm, pressure handle, locking pin, and safety pin. A Competent Person other than the user must conduct a documented, thorough inspection at least every 6 months, or sooner if conditions warrant. The user manual includes a full inspection checklist and a log for record-keeping.
